Salvona
Hi guys, Bought the Q7 in August last year and had issues with the DPF which resulted in it being removed and then remapped. Tonight, the bolt at the injector has sheered off with an explosion of oil to follow. Any idea if the injectors are touched as a result of the removal or remapping as the only explanation for the sheering that I've been made aware of is due to the bolts being over-tightened. Cheers Allan
Trevor
Hi Allan...welcome to the Forum Have come across this before, thought it may be someone overtightening the bolts but apparently not if it's just happened to yours as well. I believe there seems to be a pattern forming here. I would advise having the remaining bolts taken out and sourcing some new (high grade) bolts put back in
Salvona
Thanks Trevor. I have an Audi specialist reviewing the car later today. The concern is that the bottom half of the screw could have dropped down in beside the injectors and if so, looking at a pretty penny to have it sorted. Had 4 different mechanics advise me that they think it might have been over tightened when sorting out the glow plugs or DPF issue. Unsure if this is the case but not willing to take it back to the dealer as lost faith in them.
