Chops
Hi all. Ive recently purchased a 2005 audi a4 avant s-line 2ltr tdi with 81k and fsh (with extra work done but not accounted for in the schedule) anyway.. today we took our first longish trip to blackpool from carlisle and noticed after 60mph and especially at 80mph that there is a droning/humming sound coming from somewhere on the car. There are no vibrations only a dull droning sound. Dipping the clutch and freewheeling doesnt change the noise so wondered if this could eradicate the flywheel? Could it be a wheel bearing at all? any help is much appreciated thanks. (I have more questions to ask about the car but will deal with this one first)
Simon H
Sounds like a wheel bearing.
