Steering wheel swap?

Hello,

Ive done some searching but cant answer the question im looking for.

I have a 2007 Audi a3 2.0tdi Quattro SLine,

My steering wheel doesn't have any controls on the wheel its self, however my friend has written off his a3 that is on a 2008 , his had buttons either side for volume etc, How much of a ball ache is it to swap it over, and what would i need to take off his car, all the post i can fit refer to the " flat bottom" and his is the same as mine ( fully round ) but with buttons on the wheel. 

Would appreciate some help as we need to swap tonight as the " scrap man" is coming to take it away tomorrow,
