8P front end body panel difference help

Hi all!

After searching and reading many threads I am totally confused about the body panels on my car. Basically, I run a bodyshop and have bought a 2009 Facelift A3 pretty cheap because it has been damaged and repaired. First thing I have done is taken the front end to pieces to make sure the repairs are done properly as the shut lines and gaps are not as they should be. Everything is fine but I have realised the panels were bought on the cheap to get it back on the road and sold so they are all aftermarket crap fitting panels....which is why all the lines are not quite right. So I thought it would be simple to get some second hand genuine panels to fix it up......but there seem to be loads and loads of variations of the 8P panels!

So....it seems there is the 8P, then a facelift, then another facelift in 2009 which mine is. Local to me there is a 2006 being broken which I was going to get 2 wings, slam panel and bonnet and then look for an s line front bumper as it currently has an RS3 replica front bumper on it which I don't want. But it seems the bonnet is a different part number to the facelift although they look exactly the same? Are they the same? And then I read people putting S-line bumpers and s-line bonnets on their cars....so is the s-line bonnet different again? because in pictures it seems to look the same! can someone either tell me what the differences are or if it has been outlined clearly in a thread before point me in that direction because I am really stumped!!  Thank you :)

Thanks Graham :)

I notice the part numbers of somethings are the same but with a different letter on the end, which a lot of the times doesn't really matter but with panels it can be hit and miss. I don't suppose you know if any of the panels are the same?

Sorry Adam

I have not played around with taking off panels or changing them over.

I use it for understanding how to take off and replace items..

If I can find out how the part number system works at Audi will let you know.

It might be worth a trip to your local Audi main dealer and have a chat with the parts man.
