Rear lighter socket

Featured Replies

Hi , I have connected a dash cam up to the socket in the boot but this remains on even though the car us locked up - it drained my battery today and the car wouldn't start - is there a way that thus can only come on when the ignition is on cheers in advance

All cars have a constant live circuit for things like clocks and alarms, sometimes the cigarette lighter is included in this circuit, not sure how to get round this m8 someone may have more info on this

I have mine wired in using a ignition switched live from the fuse box. You can get hardwire kits such as https://goo.gl/Pwv7Li

I have never used these but they seem really safe and easy way to do it. IMO if I could do mine again I would use one.

Ok thanks I will try this - it's strange as both my son's have these and they don't stay charging when ignition is off (both VW's)
