  1. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
  2. New Members - please read before posting ! Be civil Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, abusive, or hate speech. Avoid confrontational responses to post content that may be different to your own personal beliefs. Everyone has their own opinion on different matters and this provides for diversity, so please avoid an argument. Be polite It doesn't cost anything to have manners and would be appreciated by the community if you included 'please and thank you' as required in your posts. Keep it clean Don’t post anything obscene or sexually explicit. Respect each other Don’t harass or troll anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information. Be respectful to Moderating Staff and other members at all times. No politics or religion Nothing starts a fight faster than politics or religion, so we don't allow those discussions. Keep personal information private All posts in the forums are easily found via search engines, so unless you're willing to expose your information to the world, please do not post telephone numbers, e-mail addresses etc in your posts. Have a little patience We are a club made up of members who have to work days or nights so can’t always reply straight away, someone will get back to you as soon as they can, so please be bear with us. Thread titles Be accurate with your topic by giving a brief sentence of the problem, hint or tip you would like to get across to other members. These are not concrete terms with precise definitions — avoid even the appearance of any of these things. If you’re unsure, ask yourself whether you'd go on TV and publicly say it on camera. This is a public forum, and search engines index these discussions. Keep the language, links, and images safe for family and friends. Follow Up Please find the time to follow up your post with a conclusion (such as; that worked, tried that but didn't work, etc) so contributing members can see whether their advice and suggestions worked in this instance. You may receive an email asking you to add a conclusion to your post, please find the time to return to your post and marked it as solved.
  3. Hi guys, I don’t post often but thought I would share my experience with my Q7. It’s a 2019 50TDI Vorsprung in black. It’s got the factory 22 inch alloys, black badges, black exhaust tips and a dark grey interior. This is all factory afaik. I bought the car in 2020 with 9600 miles on the clock as an Audi used approved car after the original owner decided it was too big for them apparently. This was just after the end of the first Covid lockdown and they were desperate to sell it ha ha haaa. The car has full Audi service history and currently has 96,770 miles on the clock. I extended the warranty up until earlier this year for piece of mind but I decided not to continue it any more. Servicing costs me £21.74 a month with Audi main dealer and for this they take care of everything** Any and all filters needing changed are done. Fuel, cabin and air filters as well as routine oil and filter. I have the condition based servicing (up to 19,000 miles) but that only lasts me about 12-14 months byway so it gets an annual service in effect. **Apart from routine servicing, I had the gearbox serviced locally to me as the box was tending to hold gears too long. That was at about 85,000 miles and they company said it needed sound when it was in due to the condition of the oil. I tow trailers and load the car from time to time. I change the wiper blades every 2 years as they tend to streak after this point. I had the brakes done at 50,000 miles but they could have comfortably done 60,000 miles tbh. This is my change point. I do one set of discs to 2 sets of pads as I have with any other car I’ve owned. But the factory front discs corroded badly on the edges and wore the discs badly so I switched them out for factory replacements and they seem fine this time round. Tyres: I run the factory Hankook 22 inch tyres in the summer and I have a second set of winter wheels in 20 inch I use in the winter. I am still on my second second set of summer tyres and my first set of winter tyres (with the winter wheels about to go back on next week and they will see me through). I’m on 96,770 miles as of now so I’m looking at 33-35,000 miles per set of tyres. No horror stories on the tyre wear. Repairs: Ok so far repairs in over 5 years and 85,000+ miles comes to £85. That was for the dreaded brake servo pressure sensor. The part cost £85. It was 2 minutes to change it out and 30 minutes to boot up my old laptop with the VCDS software on it. Yes, I had the extended warranty but I could do it same day and not wait, plus it was cheaper than the excess. In summary, it’s been a brilliant car and I still really enjoy it so I’ll be keeping it for a while longer. It doesn’t cost any more than an unassuming Ford (not hating here lol) to maintain. Hopefully this will help a potential owner of a used Audi Q7. Don’t believe all the horror stories about big repair bills or chewing of tyres. If anyone has any questions, let me know and I’ll try and answer as best I can. Cheers, Andy
  4. When setting off with a cold engine is OK until I accelerate moderately and the glow plug coil symbol illuminates and the engine goes into limp mode, this is on a 1.6Tdi VAG DBKA engine. If I then stop, turn ignition off and re-start engine the coil symbol is out and all is normal. To cut a long story short the problem is due to a faulty oil pressure sensor especially when the engine is cold. There are two oil pressure sensors on the engine, 1 for low pressure and one for higher pressure. The garage diagnosed both sensors were failing, they were replaced and all is back to normal. The garage ( Non VAG) told me they are getting lots of VAG vehicles with this problem so now keep replacements for both sensors on the shelf. So double check the oil level manually and if OK get the oil sensors diagnosed and replace but make sure they are OEM grade and not cheaper lool alikes. The sensor with the grey plastic body is the high pressure and the one with the green plastic body is the low pressure sensor. Hope this is useful to others with a similar problem!
  5. Thanks! I'll certainly give those suggestions a go
  6. 8MA945095J - however that's on US based cars. To be honest, this is likely to be fairly specialist, that might have to just go to Audi dealer, or claim through your insurance. Charles Trent are worth a search based on your registration. They have a 2025 Q5.
  7. Hey Gareth, Thanks so much for the swift reply. Much appreciate and agree totally with you. I’ll search the forum as suggested. cheers adam
  8. To let you know you can tell if you have the update. On the MMI screen the rear heater icon has changed and now shows the rear screen and the wing mirrors in the icon instead of just showing the rear screen.
  9. I've read through all of this forum and the 190 seems to have more problems (maybe more of them?) than the 177. My wife has a 2012 SE 177, with 146,000 miles and it's had one egr cooler, that's all. I regularly check the dpf with carly.
  10. This is what is being updated, may help others,
  11. Thank you! They have already been very helpful with advice. Mark
