  1. Audi dealer called to say control unit turned up quicker then expected, asked them if they had any idea on why the unit failed and they do not and could not guarantee it would not happen again. I asked them to ask Audi if the fault happened again at 70 mph and we crashed due to the same fault affecting the steering control unit, steering and other driving features, would the interior safety features still work as designed as one of the reported faults was the proactive occupant protection showed a fault and said currently restricted, when I Iooked this up this is what I got, The "Proactive Occupant Protection: currently restricted" message on your Audi means the vehicle's pre-crash safety systems (like seatbelt tensioners, window closers, and airbag modules) have detected a fault and disabled themselves. This typically disables related features like Audi pre sense. Does not read safe to drive to me and in an event of an accident the driver and passengers would have zero protection. Awaiting to hear from the dealer and Audi. As I share this car with my wife she does not feel safe to drive the car and feels the car is unsafe to drive and also she is worried if it failed on her what would happen. Lets see what Audi and the dealer comes back with.
  2. Well heard from Audi. The steering control module has blown and needs to be replaced, on a two week back order. This control unit controls other units and sensors and why it throw up so many errors. The question now is why did it blow?
  3. This is the full EV version. I think the problem is Audi want to charge more for poor quality cars, the older cars quality was so much better, now bean counters get involved and want more money but quality suffers, to me Audi used to be seen in the past as a premium branded car and the higher end in the group, now Skoda has better build and reliability in the group, the once looked down on Skoda brand can now look down on Audi.
  4. Have to agree Steve, thank you for the heads up on the Toyota. Been told I have a Ford Explorer on it's way to me.
  5. No being told the collection that was at 9.10 and then moved to 2 pm has been moved to 4 pm. So only 7 hours late. Audi breakdown assist who are only the AA which is not an issue in itself but when the slip up and say AA and not Audi Assist, would have more respect for Audi if they just said our breakdown cover is provided by the AA and not it is provided by Audi specialists. The person then said an Audi tech was coming out before 6 pm, even though someone had been out and I had to then explain that breakdown was meant to be with me and they had no clue what was going on, I said is it not all loaded on their system and the person had no idea and could not answer, shocking.
  6. Also meant to be recovering the car by now and no one has turned up, imagine being broken down in the middle of no where in this heat expecting recovery.
  7. Nope, I no doubt will not be the last as you say but if my posts stops someone else from being caught out with a pile of Audi junk then this is one extra person helped to remove from the brand.
  8. Got to love Audi, the Audi Mobility people called and said there is no SUV available in my area and said they would have to get Enterprise to call me, Enterprise called and due to half term they have no suitable car in the area and are phoning around to try to find a car. Looks like Audi need to not only sort out their reliability issues if all their cars are not availabile. Now waiting to see if I will even have a suitable car.
  9. Audi Tech man been, car is going to have to be recovered and taken to the dealer, he said he has never seen that many faults with the car and it could be the main ECU has failed. Now awaiting for the car to be recovered and what car thy are going to give me.
  10. Will do, Audi tech book for 7 am till 9 am visit so will let you know. I have owned Audi RS4, RS6, SQ5 and the Q6 and my son has a A1 Competition and the Q6 will be the last Audi in the family, I do not go back to manufactures who manufacture cars and there backup on issues are, well I will be polite and say Poor, I have stronger words, its not the fact I have had issues it's the fact that 20 months later my faults have not all gone and now got bigger, can I ever trust this car to not let me down again but next time it may not be my driveway it has failed or worse when the wife is driving and in the middle of no where, once you loose faith in a car I do not think you every get it back.
  11. No worries, thank you for trying to assist. I would have ignored the Audi dealer and rejected the car when the first faults happened, my advice to anyone thinking of a Q6 is to take your hard earned cash and spend it else where.
  12. Just went out and checked, screen and sensor is spotless, car is also a lot cooler and still all the errors shows, I do not think its just a possible sensor at the front error as it's telling me wheels are loose and TPMS warning as example are not affected by the front sensors. Will be interesting to see what the Audi tech says tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed he says the car cannot be repaired and they have to make a financial deal with me to buy back the faulty car from day one. Now that would make my day. ๐Ÿคž
  13. And then hope the UK has no more sun ๐Ÿ˜ช
  14. Thank you Steve, So do not park your car anywhere near the sun incase it has a melt down. Will check later to see if the issues have gone.
  15. Hi all, well the Audi Q6 car has gone well and truly mad, claims to have 24 faults, just got in the car to go out and now can not, Audi can not send a tech support person till tomorrow. Here are just some errors the car is showing, here are the top 16 faults Steering Fault. Please stop vehicle Rear Cross-Traffic unavailable Rear Turn Assist unavailable Side Assist unavailable Lane Departure Warning currently unavailable Exit Warning unavailable Emergency Assist currently unavailable Adaptive Light fault Proactive Occupant Protection currently restricted Fatigue Warning currently unavailable TPMS Waring currently unavailable Loose Wheel Warning Fault Stabilisation Control ESC fault Traffic Sign Recognition currently restricted Dynamic Driving System fault Main Beam Assist fault This is the icing on the car with this car, more and more faults and issues can not wait to get rid of this pile of junk.
  16. Just had a look at the online manual rather then the Audi website technical information, From the Q6 manual it does state it will tell you which tyre, which is interesting as mine did not tell me so can only assume it thought two were low at the same time which again unusual and strange to have two at once go low, so interesting as online it states it does not yet the manual says it does. Tyre pressure loss indicator Introduction Within the system limits, the tyre pressure loss indicator in the instrument cluster informs the driver if the tyre pressure is too low or a system malfunction has occurred. The system makes use of the ABS sensors to compare the rolling circumference and the vibration of the tyres. If changes in the inflation pressure are detected on one or more tyres, the driver is alerted by an indicator lamp ๏ƒ‡ and a message on the instrument cluster. If only one tyre is affected, the display will indicate its position. The tyre pressure loss indicator on your Audi is specially matched to Audi Genuine Tyres Information on new tyres or wheels. Audi recommends that you use these tyres. Each time tyre pressures are changed (e.g. when switching from partial load to full load and vice-versa) on your vehicle, or after the tyres are changed, you must store the new tyre pressures Storing tyre pressures in the tyre pressure loss indicator. Monitoring of the tyre pressures is based on the tyre pressures you have stored. The inflation pressures recommended for your vehicle are given on the tyre pressure sticker refer to. The rolling circumference and vibration can change and cause a tyre pressure warning if: The inflation pressure in one or more tyres is too low. The tyres have suffered structural damage. The wheels were changed or the tyre pressures were changed and the new tyre pressures were not stored Storing tyre pressures in the tyre pressure loss indicator. Only some of the worn tyres have been replaced. Please note that the tyre pressure loss indicator may fail if there is an ESC fault. When driving with snow chains, the warning may be triggered erroneously or a system malfunction may occur.
  17. Were talking Q6 here? The SQ5 maybe different as they may not have cut costs.
  18. Exactly, cost cutting at it's best by Audi. They will be charging for tyres and air on new cars in the future.
  19. Yes especially as Audi say it does not offer this function on the Q6.
  20. Just looked on line also, The Audi Q6 typically uses an indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that detects pressure loss by monitoring wheel speed and vibrations through ABS sensors rather than measuring individual tire pressures. While it will trigger a warning light on the dashboard to alert you of low pressure, it generally does not show which specific tire is low, nor does it provide individual pressure readings
  21. Well mine popped up only last week but did not say what wheel it just said low tyre pressure check tyre pressures, then when I went to the center screen when parked it again just stated low pressure, not which tyre and then asked me to store current pressures. MMI menu: Car > Servicing & Checks > Tire Pressure Monitoring > Store Current Tire Pressure. No mention of which tyre.
  22. Will be interested to know where you see this as mine just states low pressure and not what tyre.
  23. I a UK and have a 1st Edition and its not on that model. As it was meant to be the fully loaded version I am shocked to read you have it on the lower spec S line.
  24. 100% agree, you get tyre monitoring per tyre on cars sub 40K yet of a car thats double or more you just get a warning light, cost cutting at it's best by Audi.
