  1. Who did you phone Charles? Have you ( in caps) inputted your VIN into the website?
  2. Thanks for your reply’s, I phone Larkspeed to get a quote on the pads, but yes I hear you and will follow your advice to input my VIN details, thank you!
  3. I am married to my dish washer so I dare not present her with oily car bits to clean.
  4. Yes you have got a dishwasher - its name is Steve!
  5. Hello Charles, If you enter your VIN into LLL Parts website it should come up with the part numbers you will need. ‘Parked have asked which……’. ?? Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  6. I DISH WASHER ALL KINDS I WOULD LEFT THAT SOCKING IN BUCKET TFR THATS WHY INDER MY BONNETT ALWAYS MINT
  7. Sean. I realise you are in a dilemma, but I don't have the time to search through the dozens of old posts on the matter to find a specific recommendation for your particular model. That's something you must do for yourself. What I can say is that the Audi recommendation is wrong. Audi has been increasing their limit for years in an effort to reduce the apparent cost of maintenance to new buyers, which has caused some owners to suffer wrecked engines. Consider that a new cambelt, with associated tensioner and water pump, cost me a shade over £700 at least ten years ago. That was a large bill that I really didn't want, however the consequence of cambelt failure is often destruction of the engine leading to its replacement at a cost of many thousands of pounds. I had that job done as the car approached 70000 miles in line with normal practice at the time.
  8. many thanks for your input Stevey 🙂
  9. Hello Sean, Have to be out and about today, but if you can wait until this evening, I will knock something together which should help you to come to a decision. Regards, Gareth.
  10. Had my 35tdi for 3 years, never regretted buying it. I like the sublime comfort and quietness making long journeys a real pleasure and as for the economy it's amazing long term average is now 64 mpg with well over 70 on long runs in summer. I have the saloon which has a very large boot especially with the seats folded, got a 6' x 3' fence panel in ! My only regret now, is not buying one of the last A4 avants as a replacement.
  11. Very confusing Chris - we aren’t meant to be mind readers. Please explain the situation clearly at the point of posting, otherwise we waste our time, and you get incorrect information. All of which isn’t what anyone wants.
  12. Been a little quiet this week due to a family member on end of life care and my friend unavailable to assist As such I've not been able to get the sump off but I have left my expansion tank to soak in bicarbonate soda on a recommendation from a mechanic colleague. I've not soaked the sensor connector, for anyone worried. My rationale is that the original expansion tank will be better quality than any replacement?
  13. ah right we can see it says audi 2004 in your signature
  14. I've been told on USA 2014 Q7 3.0l TDI ENGINES, THE BANK 1 IS ON PASSENGERS SIIDE, EUROPE MODELS is on the left side. So to change bank 1 sensor 1 on a USA, I believe it's way down under everything. Correct?
  15. Agree with the comments above on getting all 6 done in one hit. The copper washers are well known to fail after a while. The copper washers can be bought direct from Audi and if you are there get all 6 injector bolts as they are known to snap, and the rubber oring for the injector shaft. Whether you do the job yourself or getting someone to do it for you, make sure the injector port and especially the injector seat is completely clean and has no black cruud before the injector with new washers go back in. Otherwise in 6months to a year the same job will have to be done again. I got the parts myself just recently and did the job myself and cost my less than 150 for the washers, orings and bolts, including the brush set to clean the ports.
  16. Sean. This matter has been extensively discussed over the past year or two. Please search the Audi forums to get the full range of advice and suggestions, which in essence suggest getting the belt changed more frequently.
  17. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
