My wife has a VW Golf 1.4 TSI 2016 and has been loosing coolant similar to your experience, which was the water pump. It was easy to identify the pooling on top of gearbox. Cost at VAG specialist using OEM part was £466 My A5 B9 looses a small amount of coolant (max to min in a few K miles) and has been pressure tested, but I can now see dried water/coolant at the outlet pipe underneath the reservoir. Hi all, I'm new to the forum and thought to post an issue I've experienced with my A4 Avant 1.4 TFSI (2016)i. It all happened June23. The brake servo warning light came on (at the same time as the service message) and it said 'contact the service centre' but I could carry on driving, DO NOT CARRY ON DRIVING! I carried on driving because I'm busy rushing around with job/family and it was due a service in about a month. Unfortunately the light then turned to stop driving. Audi said it needs a new ABS pump at the cost of £4000 and the Audi-specialist said they could not guarantee the fix and best to accept Audi's offer (who eventually reduced the fix to £2500 after I contacted Audi UK). There were other garages who said they could take the pump off , then I would need to send it off to be remanufacture, and they can put it back on. However there are mixed reviews whether this actually works with some Audi owners saying they had to send it off 3 times. In the end I found a fantastic garage called Graham Goode who diagnosed the problem, they said they would send the pump off to be remanufactured and they also said if they couldn't fix it, they would not charge. In the end they fix it for £550, they were very professional and have won my loyalty for servicing/MOT from here on. 6months on and everything is still OK!

Hello Stephen, I can not comment on the 0w 30 vs 5w 30 debate - always used 5w 30 myself, and bought the VAG exclusive brand Quantum Longlife 3, oil for decade or so - once blended by Castrol, but it seems it’s now blended by Fuchs. If you intend to use 0w 30, then you can get Quantum on EBay from CE Automotive ( I’ve bought my 5/30 from them in the past) for a tad under £40 delivered for 5 litres - not much more than my 5w/30. It’s also worth having a look on Amazon since I found Quantum 5/30 cheaper than on EBay. Your 0w/30 maybe cheaper there too. Let us know what you think. Kind regards, Gareth.
