I’ve had this on my 1.6 mpi engine. A 2010 the 8p model. The car vibrates too much. They said that the brake vacuum lines are damaged which might cause the juddering. Also I’ve heard people saying when they add fuel the car gets better.

Hi people. Recently i have been thinking to upgrade my a3 from an 8p to an 8v. I was wonder if the new generation 1.4tfsi engines are twin charged or just single charged? The one i am looking to buy has 120 hp stock.

They all have different rear bumbers. The 3 door, 5 door and the convertible bumber will NOT match up. The reason for this is they all have dofferent tail lights and each bumber is designed to fit around those rear bumpers.

Since owning my car, a 2010 Audi A3 1.6, i’ve had to refill the oil twice. First time i thought the owner didn’t bother filling it to the level, then the second time i took it to my mechanic I’ve used for 10+ years. He said that these engine tend to burn a lot of oil. (Could be some of them which are affected) so he told me if there was a blue smoke or a white smoke and i said there is a white smoke. He said white smoke could be the from the coolant or/and the engine oil. regards p.s. I’ve owned the car for 5 months

Unfortunately these engines are notorious for burning oil. At the motorway do you realise that there is a lot of whote smoke when you floor it. If yes, that os oil being burnt. By the way sorry I don’t know the answer about the pcv valve.

I have an Audi A3 1.6 and even the 1.2 litre TFSI engine is quicker and faster than the 1.6 MPI engine. The 1.6 MPI engine is quite reliable but has a major problem with the engine. After about 60-70k miles the car starts to burn oil. So you would need to top up regularly and do an oil service more regularly. The 2.0 litre very powerful. Haven’t drove one but had a race with one at the traffic lights. And it just flew past. If you are considering a 1.6 get the 1.2 or 1.4 TFSI. These are faster and quicker that the 1.6 MPI engines. If you feel tjat you need more power than the 1.4 TFSI, go for the 1.8T as they are also quite powerful aswell.
