A3 LED Headlamp Upgrade: Need MOT, Washer & Insurance Advice
Hi if as you say the lights are a British design you should be ok as they will comply with the road laws in this country, as for the washer system you wont have any as the original units were halogen, washer system not required, the manufacturers produce all bumpers with the caps for this function it saves making two types of bumper, those with and those without. Steve.

Stage 1 - Strange Results
Hi how was the extra BHP/TORQUE proven, did you have it on a rolling road? or did he just tell you what you wanted to hear, want to hear my theory?, 2020 on all the ECUs and other modules on VAG vehicles are protected by SFD which wont allow you to do anything like that to the ECU or any other module on the car, you would need the correct software to present a challenge code to the dealer mainframe and if accepted the mainframe issues a clearance code to allow the function to be carried out, if the mainframe has any issue with the function it simply refuses access. Steve.

A3 LED Headlamp Upgrade: Need MOT, Washer & Insurance Advice
Hi if you have converted a halogen lamp to HID/LED it probably wont pass a vehicle inspection for the following reasons, HID bulbs need a washer system and will need a levelling sensor with the associated wiring, LED bulbs tend to destroy the beam pattern unless the lamp has a fisheye lense but even then you may not get a beam cut off line which will also fail. Steve.

What is this warning Light please?
Hi the warning light is telling you that you can't over rev the engine, being yellow means it is not serious but must be read on a scanner to identify the fault at the earliest opportunity. Steve.

Throttle Body Issue?
Hi David sorry to hear of your problem, unfortunately every consumable part in a car engine has a [how long is a piece of string] life expectancy but I am sure the new one will solve your problems. Steve.

A4 Electronic Oil Level (bust) Check Conundrum
Hi I assume the quote for the repair was made by Audi, just find an independent garage, the sensor is about £70 and involves taking off the front splash guard underneath drain out the oil unplug the sensor undo three 10mm bolts and it falls out, also if you inspect the top of the engine with the cover off in there somewhere is a tube with a plastic bung, thats your dipstick tube. Steve.

Running light
Hi sorry its a new headlight, the strip is replaceable but nine times out of ten its cheaper to buy an aftermarket unit and fit that, DONT go anywhere near a stealership they will ruin your wallet. Steve.

A8 D3 air con fault
Hi dye testing is a must as that will show exactly where the leak is rather than guessing, can't help you with the evaporator unit change but that item is odds on favourite as the moisture rots it out. Steve.

Dpf cleaner spray
Hi go on a site called ZAP 7 and put in your VIN that should bring up a parts catalogue for your car, the part number is the key to getting the right part and YouTube is the best source of how to if you are unsure how to fit the part. Steve.

Dpf cleaner spray
Hi yes its the switch on the pedal, it could also be the brake light bulbs so check to see if working from the research I have done it appears the switch is a common failure. Steve.

Engine Management Light - P200200
Hi you can buy a new cooler on ebay, the last one I bought was from carpartsinmotion an NRF unit which was abut half the price of the last unit from Audi you will also have to get the valve that sits on the cooler about another £150+£256 for the cooler then about £20 on new gaskets only from Audi, the job is an absolute night mare but last time they took the front of the car off and unbolted the DPF/CAT and pulled it out of the front so once its on the floor the job is easy about six hours, no sensor no DPF clean, I was looking on YouTube and there are people who clean both the cooler an cat in situ, may be worth getting a quote from one of them, one of them is an Irishman that seems to go pretty much any where, then get RID because the next thing will be the clutch and if you think this is a drama thats a whole different level , the parts alone are over £1700 without the oil seals you will need about £80, these things are money pits, I ran my A6, same engine as a cab from 2019 until jan 24 and when it was written off I was gutted but when I bought a VW Passat as its replacement after about a month I suddenly realised every part like windscreen wipers and brake pads were about a third of the price, I priced up a clutch for future reference LUK original £500 for the clutch with everything including the flywheel and about £280 to fit, let us know how you get on. Steve.

Engine Management Light - P200200
Hi this is a common problem on any ULTRA Audi its a Cr@p design which is doomed to fail at about your milage, I personally had two fail on me on my A6 and at over 180,000 was waiting for the third one to give me grief when the car was written off, the cooler fills itself with adblu crystals and blocks this is well documented on this site, if you ask Gareth or Cliff they will put you in the right direction of the posts you need to look at, at no point when I had this problem did I have the DPF cleaned or replace any sensors that is gerrymandering for more money. Steve.

Throttle Body Issue?
Hi yes, with the car running and not in bright daylight raise the bonnet and using a good torch get an assistant to turn on everything, lights, aircon, blower at max, heated rear windscreen and observe if there is a bouncing movement on the tensioner if its bouncing its shot the action of the tensioner should be smooth, with regard to the alternator clutch/pulley the only way to check that is to remove the unit and get it checked by an alternator specialist. Steve.

Steering rack
Hi the part number is on a sticker on the steering box.

Throttle Body Issue?
Hi sounds like a knackered auxiliary drive belt or a seized alternator pulley. Steve.

Which UK OEM parts supplier
Hi sorry old boy but they will dealer only for that year unless you can find a dismantler thats breaking one thats a couple of years older, try Charles Trent at Poole in Dorset. Steve.

Dpf cleaner spray
Hi personally I would still get it scanned as both those lights really are separate entities as the cat symbol covers that alone and the glow plug light covers a multitude of sins and paying for a clean that you dont need. Steve.

Low Coolant Warning
Hi yes its the sensor, but changing the reservoir would be good especially if your original has the deadly silica bag fitted in to it which will eventually burst and cause you problems you can identify this by looking at the reservoir and if its got a little square printed on it next to the antifreeze grade it is fitted. Steve.

Retrofitting Privacy Glass - one panel won't fit
Hi probably but it may take some finding, laminated glass is slightly thicker, laminate+glass+ laminate toughened glass may well be thinner its worth checking with a micrometer, alternatively fit the same style of window gear to the side it doesn't fit I think that might be the cheapest option then you know that should fit because both sides are the same. Steve.

Retrofitting Privacy Glass - one panel won't fit
Hi for what its worth the laminated glass is fitted for the American market as some states demand this before they will approve the vehicle for sale in that state, my guess is that the production line ran out of glass for that door so they swiped a window from another line to get things moving, I have no doubt there are more like yours floating about but the owners will never know unless the glass needs replacing, Steve.

Dpf cleaner spray
Hi like the term suggests, without a proper diagnostic scan you are guessing, it could be turbo over, boost, a glow plug, a drop in fuel rail pressure, MAFF/MAP failure, what leads you to the conclusion that its the DPF?. Steve.

All knowledge is here!
Hi dont know what the new one looks like but went fishing on the net and found loads of those on Autodoc and other sites they are quite common so if the new one looks nothing like it reject it, as I said plenty of them available for sub £100 for a Nissens unit which were O.E. anyway, please let us know how you get on. Steve.

Quattro front driveshafts
Hi the only way is to compare the amount of teeth on the input shafts, unless they are the integral CV ends that just bolt to a flange on the box in which case they may well fit. Steve.

All knowledge is here!
Hi if you could post a picture of the original that would be a great help. Steve.
