  1. I love this colour, looks gorgeous. 😍 😍
  2. I can't fix it but can suggest a bodge which will at least get you through the MOT. It's not strictly legit, however, it would save a good car wasting away just sitting doing nothing or, costing an absolute arm and a leg to fix. Remove the offending bulb.
  3. As my children would say, "Google is your friend". At least you would be pointed in the right direction of hydraulic pipe repairers, best of luck.
  4. If you do a Google search it comes up with several suggestions for this repair. I'd check out the ones closest and then check out their reviews to see what sort of reputation they've got and then get a couple of quotes before making up my mind if I were you, good luck!

I just noticed that your location was Scotland, are you anywhere near Glasgow perchance? The reason I ask is that there is an Audi independant specialist in Clydebank called A For Audi who have a very good reputation for their work and are decent in their pricing too when compared to Glasgow Audi (the main dealer). They might be able to help or at least advise you on what can or can't be done, best of luck, I hope that you get the issue sorted out soon.
  6. It all depends on what they mean by "Stage 2" and whether it relates to the state of tune of the engine/car in general or just the exhaust. If it's the engine tune, I'd expect a remap, an induction upgrade and possibly a de-cat or other exhaust upgrade. The fact that you have been told that their has been a Miltek exhaust fitted could back that up, it all depends on what has been changed on the exhaust. The other thing to think about is what car and performance level were you used before the TT? Perhaps that could be why you appreciate it as "its pulling more than its standard 225 BHP and really kicks in and is blisteringly fast" alternatively, it could be due to the alleged upgrades. Was the vendor any more specific as to what work had been done on the car? I only ask as your insurance could be invalidated if upgrades are not declared and that's the last thing you need. Enjoy your new car and stay safe!
  7. You might find it cheaper to go to an exhaust specialist who can build you a bespoke system or even just part of the system. The price will all depend on what you want done and the sound you want to achieve. The guy that I use in Glasgow C & C Custom Exhausts is a hell of a lot cheaper than Magnaflow, Akrapovic and the other specialist exhaust manufacturers out there. Ok, his systems may not be as pretty or well known but they're fully functional, bespoke and be made to sound the way you want them to, plus, when you get a stainless steel system, it will last the life of the car. I'm sure there must be someone in Dumfries who will be able to provide the same sort of service, sadly I can't make any suggestions as to who, because I'm in Ayrshire but, I'd try doing a Google search first and see who's available in your area, then you can phone them and get a quote.
  8. When I road tested my TT prior to purchase, the reverse camera worked fine. The car is fitted with an Xtrons head unit which tbh I am at a bit of a loss to get my old head around, it has so many features that it confuses me. 🙂 Easily done with computers as I'm in my sixties now. All I get now when I select reverse, is a black screen with a yellow warning triangle which has an exclaimation mark in it. 😕 My two lads who are both into computers in a big way have both tried to get the camera working to no avail. I think I might have simply switched something off which should be on when I was having a play with it, ok, trying to set up the functions I want, lol. But, without an owners manual I've no way to tell where I've went wrong, so, any ideas anyone?
  9. Hi Jack, like yours my TT is fitted with the Le Mans Alloys with the graphite grey finish, it looks nice, however, also like you, I want to get them powder coated (not just painted, as powder coating is tougher and longer lasting than painting), to match the fuel cap. I think it will make the car much fresher looking, plus I just think that the grey looks dull, dirty and dingy unless they've been freshly washed. I really like your car in the Scuba Blue, it was my second choice of colour when I was looking for my Misano red one. Sadly it was even rarer to find than the red in a Black Edition Diesel. 🙁 I recommend powder coating over painting every day of the week, it's just better all round, and after you put a ceramic coating on, they will also be easier to clean and keep clean. All the best, Jimbo.
  10. Another thing to look for in these cars is that the drivers and passengers door drop glass is not badly scratched as this can be an indication that the regulator mechanism is going to fail or has been incorrectly set up after replacement. It's not overly expensive to replace and/or adjust but the glass looks bad when scratched and is quite common, I've seen a few which were like this when I was looking for mine. When test driving make sure that there is no vibration through the steering wheel at 75-90mph, most folk would suspect that there is a balance issue, however, this is only partially correct. The alloys and tyres can be out of round or flat spotted due to the amount of pot holes in the roads these days. The steering on the TT is also sensitive to tyre types being fitted. If vibration issues are a problem I'd recommend getting a Hunter Road Force Balance done on the car and an alignment check. The Hunter system is not cheap circa £100 to £200 however, it will pinpoint and correct any issues with the wheels/tyres and stop the vibration when it has been done. A normal full set balance will be in the region of £60 BUT, it may not completely cure the problem, I speak from personal experience.
  11. In the past I worked for the Volkswagen Audi Group in the parts side of things and the diesel engines are, when looked after properly, considered to be just run in at 60K. I've seen various VAG diesel engines run up to 500K with the proper servicing being adhered to with only fair wear and tear issues. I wouldn't consider a 90K engine to be a worry if there was full service history to back it up. I'd also take into consideration how the rest of the car looks and how it drives before buying one or, dismissing it. Modern diesels will go to 200K easily and as previously stated, beyond too. However, that being said, there are various issues which if the car has not been maintained properly will occur and could cause problems a little further down the line, I suppose it all depends on what proof the vendor has regarding the up keep of their car and how they come across when you meet them. Good luck with your search.
  12. Well done that man! Thanks very much for the info, Luke808. I live out in the sticks and hate the fact that there's no spare wheel for that tyre shredded emergency that, to me at least, always seems to happen at 2.00 a.m with absolutely no help around what so ever. Doing this mod., will at least get me home and, as you mention, with an almost insignificant loss of space in the boot. I'll be straight on to e-bay to get a wheel organised asap. Thanks again, cheers, Jimbo.
  13. I've just bought a 2013 Black Edition TT and the beeping noise when the alarm is set is driving me nuts, the problem being that I leave for work quite early in the morning and I don't want to be annoying my neighbours. Is there some way to switch the beeping off or even just reduce the volume? I've checked through the owners manual and can't find anything pertinant, or anything at all indeed regarding this issue. I can live with the flashing indicators they're not a problem at all, it's just the beeping which drives me around the bend. 😠😤🙄 Help!! 🥺
  14. Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope that you all have a fantastic day. Enjoy!!
  15. Try these guys, fantastic reputation for repairs and modifications. http://royalsteeringwheels.com/
  16. Thanks Trevor, good to be on board, I'm looking forward to learning even more about my car from the other members mate.
  17. Picked up my TT yesterday and spent six hours on it today getting it looking perfect, I'm so pleased with it, it handles like a dream. All that needs to be done now is to get the private plate on her, as soon as the new V5 arrives, can't wait.
