  1. The other option that might be worth exploring is possibly re-trimming your existing seats? That way you could have whatever fabric colour and texture you like. Shop around it shouldn't be out of reach price wise compared with buying a new set... Just be careful that the colour you pick matches your dash and trim or the future value if the car could plummet!
  2. Hi. The odds are the positions of the bolts might be different or something as petty as the thickness of the bolts may be different. If you want a new interior I would highly suggest buying it off a vehicle the same age as yours as Audi do slightly change their designs no after how shuttle year on year. However if you can view the new seats before you buy you could check all the measurements yourself! Then you will know for sure! Hope this helps.
  3. Oh dear fingers crossed it is then! Hopefully you won't have any more issues!
  4. Ouch that's not cheap... My car is also not driven hard and has full main dealer service history. So far my car has never skipped a beat, it's my second Audi and the best car I have ever owned so I suppose ill just keep my fingers crossed. On the plus side it's a good excuse to buy the 3.0tdi bi-turbo next time ;) Did you have any small issues leading upto the main problem that you noticed or was it literally one day the gearbox stopped selecting reverse without warning??
  5. Do you mind if I ask what the cost was and how much Audi contributed? I was aware this was a common issue with this engine pre 2008/2009 but I was told by Audi my engine was a post mod and this issue had been sorted. Obviously not... I had my gearbox oil changed at 50,000 (supposed to be 40,000 but the dealership forgot.... Because they forgot I got it for free by way of an apology)
  6. Audi A6 Avant 2.0tdi CVT 70,000 miles. (This post now has me worried) Hi, have Audi told you why they have said the gearbox is at fault and not any other part? Obviously a new gearbox will more than likely solve the problem but there must be another solution... I would be very interested to know if you find out any more! Keep me posted!
  7. Hi, which light has come on your dash? Buy yourself a Fault code reader (no need to spend any more than £30) this should be able to tell you down to the offending part what's wrong! Very good investment...
  8. Hi. The colour of the dash will match the colour of the leather seats. Black seats - black dash Grey seats - grey dash ect... The only way you can mix and match is by going for the expensive Audi exclusive trim option. Door trim will be same colour as the dash trim. Usually aluminium finish, wood effect, carbon fibre effect ect.. And you can pick this as an option usually at no extra or very small extra cost if buying brand new. Hope this helps.
  9. Hi. I have a 2009 A6 Avant 2.0tdi CVT with 70,000 on the clock. When I first brought my car 2 years ago (48,000 on the clock) I noticed a slightly similar issue. (Only ever in winter) the engine was very sluggish for the first 5 minutes of driving and the power seemed to be all or nothing... It also did as you described with the revs jumping around at idle. This all went away after driving it around a bit. I took the car to Audi as it was under warranty and they came back and said that this issue was completely normal and a characteristic of most of Audi's 2.0tdi engines in cold weather. Phone Audi UK and ask for technical advice, they are very very good for customer service and will help you all they can. Tell them your problem and ask them to investigate as to weather it is a common thing on your engine or not. Does the car seem to be lacking power and any certain revs If you are sure it's a misfire or any kind of fault your car will flash up a problem with a light on the dash. Cheapest thing to do is buy a fault code reader (no need to spend any more than £30) and run a diagnostic yourself. A misfire will 100% definitely show up during that. Hope this helps!
  10. 2009 Audi A6 Avant GSM phone prep LOW Hi, I have for the fitting point in my arm rest for a phone cradle. I have just brought an IPhone 5c and want to buy the cradle for it. Having spoken to an Audi dealer they say they don't know if the 5c is compatible with the iphone 5/5s cradle. Apparently Audi say it is only compatible with the 5 and 5s but I can't understand what difference the 5c would make? Same charging point and same software on the phone surely... Local Audi dealer think Audi may have just not tested the 5c so are unwilling to categorically say it works just encase it doesn't... Hoping someone else has tried this phone cradle with their iPhone 5c and knows if it works or not? Audi have said they will refund me if it doesn't work but I would prefer to find out before paying any money... Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks!
