I would think you will have to cut the door card unfortunately. Unless you can access the catch by rolling the window down?

Hi and welcome to the club! :) Locate the spring on the brake pedal and try a small quantity of white grease. Pump the pedal a little and this should hopefully cure the squeak!

Could be the chain cam tensioner. Can be quite a common fault.

Strange goings on with my rev counter
Clutch slip would normally only happen in higher gears like you said too. Try taking it on a motoroway/dual carriage way and then putting your foot down from low revs in top gear

Strange goings on with my rev counter
Hi and welcome :) It does sounds a lot like clutch slip. How many miles has the car done? Normally, with clutch slip, the revs will go up but not your speed.

towbar prep
I'm not sure how you would find the individual VIN number. Perhaps ask at an Audi dealer? I'm sure I have seen some 2009's with towbar prep but I could be wrong.

central locking messed up ?
Could be the door control module similar to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181248982631 That one is off an A4 but I have heard of other people having issues with these

low battery light
When the power steering light came on was the power steering still working?
-
new to us - a couple of problems
Hi and welcome to the club! The reverse light fault could be to do with the reverse light switch on the gear box. This can be quite a common fault.

A4 2.0tdi multitronic
Not sure if it's related but I have heard that DPF regeneration can cause the revs to hold about 1000/1500 rpm?
