Headlight Washers
I have the washers, they are a nuisance, I keep meaning to get them disabled!! :D Sometimes they can stick if I remember correctly. Mine only work if you double tap the stalk, so once and then again real quick. :D

Welcome to the Forum, I am sure someone with a lot more know how than me will be along shortly. As far as I am aware there are not many common faults on Audis, except theri emissions seem suspect....

A3 3.2 v6
I also read about the chain stretch but it seems to be such a rare problem that you only hear about the 1 or 2 that do happen. As far as servicing is concerned if you have a decent independant mechanic you know then it is what they charge for the job. For context I had a quote from Audi dealer Robinsons for the full works service, when I first got my 3.2, at around £540, my usual mechanic did it for £160 but that was mainly a standard service with no whistles and bells like Audi would probably throw in. Mileage was 79k when i got mine, its at 84k now as I do so few miles in it second car and all that and I paid £5k for it with full service history and paperwork for all jobs done. As with most Audis its lasting well and I don't regret buying it as a stand in car. In the end it depends what you want to do with it, it is not very modifiable if you want additional power. The stereo is pre smart phone and will probably cost to change from single din to double to get a lovely new stereo sat nav etc unit. Small niggles however if you are not worried about power or you are not an audiophile. All in all it's a great cruiser and works well for me.

Thanks for letting me know, seems it's a common fault. Time to get the sealant out!

New Audi Owner
I had the REVO stage 1 as it was on sale before xmas seemed to do ok with it. I had heard the new GTi was not all that but it had a lot of ground to cover over the old one and the otehr hot hatches. My friend had the 1.9 and I drove it a few times, damn that thing was low to the ground! But it cornered real well round the country roads!!

Audio replacement
The unit Cliff posted looks good, has anyone done this? My unit is a standard BOSE cd player front feed, not sure how it would fit such a larger item in such a small area...ba dum tish.

Removing back wiper
Glad that thi sis a common issue as mine has started to squeal like a stuck pig, quick look around showed this; " If you want to do this. Halfords HFX321 25mm grommet and some clear or black silicone sealant. You need to remove the plastic on the inside of the bootlid first, 4 torx (i think t20 or 25) screws on the inside, two located in the handle recess and two located underneath the covers that access the fog and reverse lights (you need to remove these covers). then just set about pulling the inner cover off, its on clips so just tug at it until it comes off. The actual wiper motor is held on by 3x 10mm bolts which are easy enough to get to. However you need to remove the wiper arm first before you can take it off. Undo the cap at the pivot of the wiper, underneath is a 13mm bolt, remove that. What i did from here was use a small hacksaw to cut the plastic part of the wiper down to the metal. Once i did that i just used a flat head screwdriver to break the plastic off. I then removed the bolts from the inside and it was off. Pull out the old grommet, slap some silicone sealant around the inside of the new grommet and pop it into place. I then from the inside of the boot slapped on a load more silicone sealant then went about blocking up the water feed for the motor. Job done."

Things I don't like
People who do 40 miles an hour in a 60 then 40 through a 30.... Grinds my gears!! People who do not say thanks when you let them into a queue.

Evening all.
Many thanks for the replies. Quater life crisis made me snort my cream jam scone nearly through my nose!! I will be using that! As for the BHP, not overly sure, will be putting it on a dyno once I get a decent induction kit fitted without my wife knowing. I am not expecting massive gains as its non turbo, but every little counts! This seems a very lively board so look forward to having a good read!

Evening all.
Evening all, I have an Audi A3 3.2 Quatro 54 plate and recently decided not to just have it as a car and maybe put a little love back into it. As a former jap car fan and club member I decided to look around and see what kind of communities were about. 40 odd years old from Lowestoft area and not having a mid life crisis...that has been and gone :D ... recently had a stage 1 revo map as it was on sale even though I said no mods and definately not looking at an induction kit or non res exhaust!! cough... Thanks for the read of my rambling post, but might as well start as I intend to continue. In denial. :D
