find a driving style that keeps the needle in the middle. you might find that high revs dont do it. low down torque up a decent incline, i.e. 5th gear up hill might get those temps up better. nailing it round your local streets wont help but stretching the gears on entry to a motorway will
  5. no feedback on that thread, perhaps we should email her :)
  6. no, you need to look for a tuner local to you and see if they can do it
  7. in that case your only option is a remap.
  8. sport will drag the gears out even more. if you don't have a maunal selector option (+ and -) you can try fettling the accelerator to force it to change gear. problem is there will be a predefined revs/torque limit for gear changes which you can;t get past. only option would be to get a tuner to change the map on the gearbox
  9. lovely looking motor, i bet it will fly!
  10. i wouldnt go for a solid flywheel, the negatives out weigh the small saving. it will be no harder than any other similar sized car. have you got the space, tools, stands, jacks, etc. as well as a mate to help you out? if so then go for it. Personally i'd pay someone else to do it and i do a lot of my own repairs/maintenance. if i had access to a set of ramps i'd do it myself.

Just get one. Won't give you any noticeable difference but you can clean them instead of having to replace
  12. Honeycomb is sexy as !Removed!
  13. i like those rear clusters, a lot! not to sure about aftermarket angel eyes but then never have been to be honest, loved them on my 5 series though!! Just go for it, treat yourself!
  14. have to ask the obvious, why buy a "sport" to dumb it down to an SE?
  15. try some 17s with thicker tyres first, try to match the overall diamter, there are websites that will calculate it for you so you ca get the correct tyres. failing that, fit the SE springs.
  16. not convinced i'd take either off road. this was me last year...and it got deeper....
  17. have you ever tried one off road? i have... they're not fun off road one bit, they're awful lol .
  18. lucky you! the x5 is a nice motor!
  19. welcome, nice looking motor! is that a PD?
  20. you have to be firm with them. if they can brush you off they will, keep at 'em!
  21. bugger, come to the wrong place clearly hahaha
  22. no idea, but I am enjoying the sudden influx of good looking women
  23. first stop for me would be diesel and air filter. there is possibly a mini filter in the tank too that can gunk up, clean that too. if that doesnt resolve it get vag com plugged in otherwise you are !Removed! in the wind

They last a lot longer if you aren't doing lots of motorway miles. Short journeys do them no good

The worst I had was so much diesel in my engine oil the engine ran away and blew up. Nasty things them dpfs are. Anyway. They're expensive to replace (thousands) but I think you can get pattern copies these days much cheaper. They don't always need replacing though, you can get a forced regen whenever it starts playing up. Mate you actually have problems with yours or sat waiting for it to happen, cos it will?
