S5 sportback 2025, tailgate issues.
Are you sure the tailgate has not been set to a limited opening hight? Can be set so does not hit garage roofs etc. If it were a SW fault then it should be seen on many more of the same base model A/S5 Sportback as there will be no difference in that segment of body control module. I have the S5 Avant (2025) and also waiting for a SW update for a rear diff issue. It can seem like they are stalling for time. The main problem is that the model is a brand new design- unproven and not fully real world tested by the best test department - the wider spread public owners. Only us Beta testers, over time, will find the edge cases in what are relatively minor issues in build and programming.

Seat Belt Tension
Experienced the full seatbelt grab yesterday (not just the reassuring pulling away tug they give you). Pulling up at traffic lights and all of a sudden the seat belts go full brace! Well away from car in front and nothing pulling out from petrol station to left. I can only assume the car behind was a little close and a little too fast on its approach. Good to know it is working.

Audi A6 3.0 TDI 2011 C7 - DSG gearbox new clutch ?
Does the car have a Towbar and are you buying it for towing? The DSG and S-Tronic boxes, although auto, have clutch packs and I can only see it having a new one as a positive. Maybe check it was not renewed by a Cowboy outfit and also test drive the car looking for any doubts regarding the smoothness of gear changes under load accelerating and also down changes whilst braking fairly hard. Also use the paddle shift and gauge how prompt each chosen gear is engaged. Will not be millisecond quick but will be sub second transitions. Also check that the gearbox has been serviced as prescribed.

Hi from the Western Isles
Ninja 400 is a cracking package - not like the Blackbird. Must have been a sad day when you saw them leave the drive. Its been a while since I was last at Assen. Have seen Moto GP and WSB there in the past. I resw up on East Coast of Scotland and the weather was hit or miss there. Western Isles have a beauty all of their own although do Amazon deliver?

Hi from the Western Isles
I have just the one bike - Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS. Had it a couple of years now. Been to Spain one year and Hungary last year. Going to Assen, NL this weekend got British Superbikes Round. Have to say the Bike is more of a Summer indulgence.

A5 B10 ehybrid delay
Fear the worst and hope for the best. I expect there has been an issue found in the model, not the individual car. Rather than release many out to customers they will hold onto them until this issue is resolved and handled internally. the $1000 question is how many have been sold and delivered? Anyone?

Walnut shell blasting
I hate it when there are seeds of doubt sown in the mind. I too get this and sold a lovely Peugeot 205GTI once because of transmission noise. I replaced it with an Audi 80... wrong option - should have just repaired the Pug. WRT Thermostat and Water Pump - I cannot tell if your engine is timing belt or chain. If belt, I would expect the water pump to be replaced at the same time as the belt. This I had done on my A6. If you do not get the low coolant warning on the dash then drive it on. Under bonnet checks periodically but not daily. I could often smell coolant when looking under the bonnet but the level never dropped.

Body coulours, car content and codes please?
"Built As" labelling used to be in boot - Was in the boot of my A6 C7 Avant. Was not verbose so would need an expert like Audi trained Tech to decipher but would list all items that were originally specified on production line. If it is a paint match you are looking for then I would get a decent paint shop to do a paint analysis scan to get the true colour. Age the consideration to get a perfect match unless you are looking for full respray to concourse levels.

Walnut shell blasting
I am a firm believe in "if it isn't broke, don't fix it". Sounds like you have a fair deal of mechanical sympathy and use the right fuel rating so apart from adhering to the manufacturers advice regarding servicing and replacement of life limited parts I say run it on. If it were a track car then tear down and rebuilds would make sense. If doubt does set in, before any major surgery, get it inspected using a camera and possible oil analysis.

My Audi just cut off while driving on motorway
There was a Lady on this forum a while back now that had the same issue. I never read a comment containing a resolution but it looks like it was around the fuel rail pressure sensor or cam shaft(s) position sensor. The thread went off on a tangent looking at battery health and management but I do not believe this. I had a similar issue (resolved itself) running the car in eco mode where the auto gearbox goes into a coast mode and at low speed the engine stops without entering start / stop mode. This is effectively a stall and needed the start button pressed once the car is put in neutral or park (Will not restart in drive).

Seat Belt Tension
Always good to get things checked out if you are unsure. The seat belts have motorised pretensioners (that pat on the shoulder when you initially pull away) but there will also be pyro driven seatbelt actuators if there is an actual crash taking place. Enjoy the car - Was looking at an SQ5 before I opted for the new S5.

S6 C8 2024 - Optional insulated windshield
Cruise through Europe: Audi’s digital toll box makes it easy | audi.com Is this an option? Sorry, just seen this is a Windscreen option too...

Seat Belt Tension
I expect your car has accident mitigation. Audi call this Presense. If you came up behind a car in front a little too quickly or a car behind approached too quickly (I think you car has rear Presence function) the safety system kicked in with seatbelt pretension one of the functions. On a 2015 A7 I have seen the windows and sunroof close too. Intervention could also be provoked through aggressive driving.

S6 C8 2024 - Optional insulated windshield
Have you tried locating the tag close to the rear view mirror? Saw a similar thread on a Porsche thread and they suggest that the shaded area of the screen is passive.

B10 S5 Dynamic driving System: Fault.
"Dynamic driving System: Fault. Function restricted. Please contact Workshop" I have seen this fault occur too many times now and have had it investigated by the dealer. They have informed me that it is a sensor range fault that will be corrected with a software update that is pending.... Not a formal recall yet and if drivers are not seeing the fault then I would expect this issue to be mopped up during routine servicing. Its just a PITA that puts the car into restricted performance mode and clears on an ignition cycle. I have been told to wait for the SW to be made available and I will be called in for the update to be applied. Not sure if it will become an official recall as it does not sit in the official recall criteria but worth noting.

IAT sensor - 2016 A6 - Where is it? Is it a separate part?
I have thought that sensor failure was a domino effect and that to find by replace you should start with the cheapest option and work your way "uphill". I took the MAF fail as explicit - tried cleaning it with Carb cleaner but that did not work. It was around 96K miles too. All in all I had the pressure sensor, MAF and 2 Exhaust Gas Temp sensor fails in the time I had the car 9K to 96K Miles and I consider that lucky compared to some. I was using an Audi specialist near me once the car had gone over 50K miles. Money saved but still a top notch service from them apart from the coffee you get in Audi partners 😉

IAT sensor - 2016 A6 - Where is it? Is it a separate part?
My A6 C7 threw a P0101 code. This was reported as MAF sensor on the Code Reader I borrowed. Replaced the MAF and still getting errors and I eventually tracked this to this pressure sensor. A little research shoed this can be the culprit. Worked for me.

S5 B10 Avant HUD Issue
My stance has been passive this far - The HUD was a HW issue in the end. The screen seems to run hot, like in the loaner, but the suspension faults are waiting on a SW update which cannot be done over the air so I will be back in for more coffee and biscuits one day soon. I was expecting niggles, this is a brand new model and the Tech it is loaded with will always have risks but, as you noted, I have 3 years Warranty for peace of mind but 40 miles of motoring, the time off work and the time without the car helps me build a case for freebies or discounts down the line. If it is one blessing, the car gets a valet on every visit. And having the 2.0 TFSi A5 gave me the opportunity to confirm that although a little rash, the S5 offers so much more with little sacrifice on economy. I am at that stage of life where I am old enough to afford one and still young enough to enjoy it.

S5 B10 Avant HUD Issue
Having had the car a few months the HUD stopped displaying. Took it to my local Dealer where they could find no reason for the issue and only a non descriptive fault in the code log. Following a reset the HUD functioned for about a month before going off again. Back to Audi and they elected this time to replace the control module. Fingers crossed this has fixed it. New car glitches. It has also pinged drive assist errors which is down to a know SW issue that there is no fix for at this time. Waiting on a SW release and another trip to Audi and until then a stop start of the engine gets it out of limp mode. Last observation is that the passenger screen runs quite hot. I had a loan A5 with same screen and this was very warm to touch when in use too so most likely a "feature". Although it is getting sorted it is irritating that there is no compensation for time and miles spent going to and from the Dealer. But.... the loaner A5 Avant was a 2 litre TSFi. Was not expecting fireworks from under the bonnet but when it only returned 35 MPG I was cheered up some knowing my S5 can match it for economy and my decision to go for the S is still a good one.

MMI navigation SD Card.
I found the maps online free to download form a very helpful "European" - I had the MMI advance in my old A6 C7 and managed to get Car Pay running so I could run Google Maps through phone interface too. Always risks involved but worked for me

Which of the new Audi A5 models feature MHEV ?
I have an S5 Avant and the "Hybrid +" as it is referred to is not intrusive and certainly helps with MPG with me seeing ~35MPG on the drives where the Angel is in my ear. It is regenerative so also works as part of the braking system reducing mechanical wear on disks and pads. WRT battery life and repair - time will tell but the only negative I can find at the moment is the slight loss of boot storage now taken up by the battery. On my first drive it did catch me out with the car in run mode but no engine I thought it had cut out rather than just ready to pull away on electrons rather than hydrocarbons. Like all things brand new there will be risk and recalls but I personally think it is worth it.
