Hi Fiona. were you told what coolant had leaked? There is a post on here regarding an A7 that developed a gearbox fault that was traced to a Coolant leak into wiring / connectors. Different model I concede but anything is worth a try. I will have a rummage and see if I can drag it out...
  3. S-Line S and RS models might site too close to the ground for the more isolated Ski Resorts. Mine will drag its chin over minor ridges on country lanes at standard S-Line ride height. May be a bit out of budget but All- Road may tick your boxes or a standard Audi frame but with the Air Suspension - they will lift their skirt a fair way to navigate more off road conditions but hunker down on the main roads. A friends A7 has Air and its a mighty fine ride Proof is in the test drives.
  4. I would say that with the indicator and DRL not working (no need for ballast on those) that it would be a more fundamental electrical issue such as a ground wire in and around the area of the headlamp. Have you tried metering out the connector voltages to chassis when DRL and indicator are flashing? Any battery volts to the ballast supply?
  5. Could have been an Airlock, another cause of a temporary Overheat will be a sticking thermostat. Any sign of a drop of coolant in the header tank / expansion bottle? If there was an Airlock this would cause a drop in fluid level. Sometimes these cars sit a while waiting for the milage to average out before going out to market although yours is bucking that trend. How long since you have had the car did the OH happen? Had you been on any extended runs before? Check the quality of the coolant too - should be fairly clear with no emulsion collecting in the expansion bottle and no particles floating.
  6. Gammon done in Cola, Roast Chickens, Rice Pud, Chilli, Curry, mulled wine, pulled pork, stews, casseroles, stroganoff, chicken chasseur, french onion soup.... Big fan of ours - so much that can be done
  7. Have you checked the APN is correct in the settings page for the Car SIM? Under phone settings if I recall right - normally get auto set but something may be stopping it getting the config message through. Does the SIM have a PIN code on it? Do you see the SIM reporting coverage / service in the bottom right of the screen next to your paired Phone Handset?
  8. Never heard about non approved tyres affecting warranty - as long as the size loading and rating are correct then this I see as Tosh. I stand to be corrected but how they would validate this stance I do not know. I have ran Avon ZZ5 on my A6 - road noise is down - handling is better (less tracking over banding etc) and economy is on the up (but this could be down to the engine freeing up past 25K miles) Around £115 / corner fitted do not break the bank but do the job of keeping the cars underside from dragging on the road in a way tyres twice the price do
  9. You may be tied up with the T&Cs of the finance but the Franchised dealers should be competitive. Note things like their AdBlu @ OMG/ litre stack the cost up. Around Hull you have a few Audi Centres - they cant all be part of the same Franchise Groups

  12. £416.24 is a little steep - do you have options to shop around other Audi franchises? 20K service on my A6 was just over £300 at Swindon Audi- time to shop around... might be worth going a little bit further for a cheaper deal...
  13. Update: If there was a prize I think it should go to sshooie - got home last night, parked up and shut down everything. The noise is a fan and its coming from the MMI. Like an old PC fan. Decided to apply a little percussive treatment to the area and the noise reduced to a hum so it is either something getting picked up in the fan or a fan bearing letting go. I did lose a SIM card through the SIM slot once - hope it's not that fouling the fan - will try and get unit out and check before chasing Audi with a claim...
  14. Over the last couple of days I have noticed a buzzing / humming noise coming from the middle of the dashboard. Present when the car is running and not, MMI on or off and Climate control on or off.... ignition on or off- Anyone else experienced this. Best way to describe noise is like a cheap PC hard drive spinning - could be MMI hard drive but would be nice to nail this down before chasing warranty claim with Audi
  15. You might find this helpful - Does not reveal while it ;lost its settings in the first place though...
  16. Update on my 2.0TDi: MPG is increacing as the miles pile on. Over 30k miles no and general MPG is in mid forties rather than late thirties 10k miles ago. Combination of mechanicals freeing up and warmer weather have to be considered but general performance seems to be higer too. No real advantage in running the car in Economy setting and I have opted for running in Auto mode day to day pulling back into S mode when the monotiny gets to me. Still surprised at how many regen I experience considering the car is on Mways for 70% of its life
  17. There are other threads on the Tinterweb reporting that the fault can be born from build-ups on the intake side too. Also swirl flap actuator. Link below to one thread of interest http://www.a5oc.com/forums/audi-a5-s5-tech/20616-egr-insufficient-flow.html
  18. That volume of coolant has to be going somewhere and as Gareth above says - look for the obvious signs. Steam out of the exhaust, pooling around the EGR etc. With the engine warm do you get the sweet smell of antifreeze wafting out? Evan in the cabin if the heater matrix was leaking? EGR, head gasket or porous head would be my train of thought going for the cheapest first although you say the coolent system has been pressure tested and worked out ok. Did they carry out the pressure test hot and cold?
  19. Many of the switching circuits on modern cars are not on / off type. They now shift resistance or voltage levels that are read by Control Modules. Before investing in an expert my first port of call would be to find every assocated loom connector and clean the contacts on them from the boot release swich through the door loom connector onto the ECU you can get to on to the boot release mech. Sometimes just unplugging and reconnecting the interfaces will remake any "dry" connection. No guarentee it will work but its an easy test and worked for a mates Volvo V50 ECU and the Wifes Pug 307 leccy windows. Over time electrical contacts can oxidise and lose conductivity. Good luck...

Is that your car in the pictures? Who is your car in for repair with? Do you have any other proof that is cannot be your car in the picture or that it way you or one of yours that was driving at the time? ANPR is ANPR - someone cloned your plate - a few possibilities, last one is sleep driving but that is not very plausible...
  23. Doesn't look like rocket science to me. As for the protector - I did not have isofix when mine were twee but used a towel under their car seats. Thick enough to pad out the seat and absorbent for any "spillage"
  24. You won't notice the seats, you will be too busy grinning riding on a wave of torque and power.
