Have you had a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up?

Has the cabin had an ingress of water at all?

The ECU could be at fault, you could get it sent away to be tested.

  4. Hi hope this is the right part to write. I have a a6 c7 2014 it's a CVT .

When the car is at a stop and I press the break pedal in park I can hear a clicking noise from the centre console like the gear shifter can someone tell me if this is normal. I don't remember hearing this noise before. When I take off the break pedal is fine no clicking noise it's only when I stop I tried it in reverse when stoped and drive when stopped with the handbrake on and it does it soon as I take off the noise stops

In that case my gut instinct would be to look at the electronic handbrake with an issue rather than the gearbox. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.

Has the car got an auto handbrake?

      I'd recommend a diagnostic check.

  6. Hi Steve thank you for your reply, it does it all the time no matter what device is on like satnav, radio, CD player ect. It sometimes shutsdown completely, then if I hold the 3 buttons down it comes back on with no sound sometimes or comes back with sound but still happens. A few people said it could be the Bluetooth module but i couldn’t see anywhere to plug my fibre optic loop  in to bridge it.

I'd definitely get a diagnostic check carried out. It might be just a case of getting a software update.

  7. Hi I have a 2016 a3 auto asked my local garage to change the ATF as car has done 47000 miles and a full service only charged me £24 for gearbox oil. ! I’m guessing that they didn’t change the ATF someone else told me it’s a sealed gearbox??? Any one think I’ve had my leg lifted?

My advice would be to ask the garage exactly what work they carried out

If it's via SD card then ebay is a good shout. Otherwise you'll probably have to visit an Audi dealer.

  9. Im thinking about buying a 2017 or newer audi a3 saloon in either the 1.5 tfsi or 2.0 tfsi or tdi. Does anyone know if I buy an s line  without the virtual displau would I be able to get a virtual cockpit installed by audi or a garage after ive brought it. Also if anyone knows or has these cars what tends to be common faults with the engines?

I'd try and buy one with virtual cockpit installed as retrofitting no it can be expensive. Here's a buyer's guide which might help:

  10. I own a Audi A4 B5 8D2 X reg 2000

I have spent 2 weeks trying to buy a front Wiper arm driver side, I tried literally everywhere my eyes were so tired with the amount of time searching.

A family member found a French company but they would not post to the UK

Eventually I found a company in Singapore expected delivery 31st July so no option but to order from them cost £37.00, all because the spring had snapped on the arm.

I tried Audi support and customer services both said discontinued item in 2018 and could not would not offer any further assistanc.

Sorry to hear of your issue. It's certainly annoying when you struggle to get parts. Please keep me posted on how you get on.

  11. Hi Steve,

Thanks for the add. Right i am completely stumped at how to use this site, im completely stumped as to why i cant find the relevant postings for the A7, i am completely stumped as to finding a good A7 workshop manual and my primary trouble is, how the hell can i open the fuel flap on my A7???? 😡😡😡 I have tried the WD40 and plastic lever trick, the RAC have heroically detached the red cord from the catch and audi want £95 prior to even looking at it for washing and decontaminating from any potential covid infection 😡😡 please please can you help????

    All the best

You're welcome. Yes I does and it unlocks either on the first unlock or second unlock- clicking unlock once or twice on the fob. I definitely would think it's the actuator that's failed.

      Cheers

      Hey Keith,

When you're on the main forum screen with new members at the top. Scroll down untill you come across a7 as title and click it.

Regarding ba workshop manual, is this any good?

      https://www.carpdfmanual.com/audi/audi-a7-service-repair-manuals-pdf/

I suspect the fuel flap actuator may have failed. Here's a YouTube video on how to change it:

I suspect not open it would be to gain access where the red chord should be. You'll have to dismantle the trim surrounding it to gain access of course.

      Cheers

  15. Hi Steve,

Bit of a long story. Was offered service plan on purchasing car (March 2017) at £803.58 for 4 annual services.Went with this as it seemed a good deal.2 weeks later received letter from my Audi dealer asking if I wanted a service plan.Told them I had one. They said they could not find a record of this.

Long story short, after a blizzard of emails after 6 months got refund of £803.58 ,still no service plan.

Went for 1st service (2 yearly) last week cost £388.39.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced difficulties getting a service plan honoured.

This sounds very odd but it might be worth you finding out if the service plan you took out was an Audi one or in fact a dealer network service plan. Hope that makes sense. As they've refunded you, it might be worth you ringing Audi to arrange an official one over the phone.

      Cheers

      Steve

  16. Hi

    I'm new to this site.

My Audi TT 2002 has just sailed through its MOT .It does however have a loud banging noise behind the seat that the tester says is the electrics windshield .Anyone have any thoughts on this or previous experience

    1. Steve Q

      Steve Q

Hi Lisa, welcome to the forum. I can't say I've heard of it before but if that's what the MOT tester has said then I'd advise you get a diagnostic check carried out or get an auto electrician to take a look 🙂

      cheers
