Just an update on this,
I knew my gut was right, only 3 out of 6 of my glow plugs were working! 😮🤦♂️ So I've had them changed for new bosh components.
On top of that the battery was only working at 55% capacity!
I also had the glow plug relay changed for peace of mind, but keeping the old one as a spare on the road trips.
Needless to say my A6 is all ready for her adventure this weekend. More to follow in that once I'm back 😉

Steve Q,
thank you u so much for your effort to help me, unfortunately to no avail, those parts are absolutely in the right area and here comes the ‘but’, but they are for the inside of the rear windows and are attached to the inner trim panel. But, and there’s another ‘but’ I could start messaging around the eBay’ers who are scraping 80 cabriolets. Thanks again Steve! 👏

You're welcome 🙂 I hadn't considered an inside seal to be honest 🤦♂️
Definitely worth contacting breakers. I'll keep an eye out though.

I feel your pain for sourcing parts for older audis. I'm finding trouble for a few parts for my c5. I've just had a search for you. I'm wondering if it's this:
And the other side:
The alternative could be to get a rubber seal company to make one using the old one as a mould/blueprint.

I can't speak for the Q7 but on the old allroads this issue can be caused by leaking airbags. Also alot of times the wire for the sensor can stretch besides breaking from even normal driving, or the plug will just become unseated, also causing the problem on the allroads. Very good possibility that could be the case. I would check the sensor wiring and plug first being it could be the cheapest fix. Another thing to consider is a faulty module.
Hope this helps.

Changed the sensor on fuel pump and swapped the ecus and still nothing same issues.
I'd be getting it to an auto electrican.

An update on my $15 part from aliexpress. 6 months on and no problems. Whether or not it is an "ebay copy" or a genuine part (markings are identical ) that is actually made for Audi/VW in China -who knows. As my original post shows some service agents put a ridiculous markup on european car parts.
Thanks for the update Sean 🙂

Thanks Steve, the tripometer itself isnt broken, its just the button facia itself
Ah yes, I can see it now. Should wear my glasses more often lol. I'd look for instrument cluster repair companies as I'm sure they'd be able to repair it. If you find a company that can, you could speed up the process by buying a second hand cluster so they can remove the trip button from it and transfer it.

Cheers steve i checked the drivers seat not the passengers 😆 lol
No probs. Ironically its more likely to be the passenger seat.

Is it the camshaft position sensor
Yep that's the one. There will be a couple of sensors.
-
Common airbag warning light issues are caused by a loose wire under the passenger front seat.
Regarding the other fault code, it could be a lambda sensor.
-
I'd be trying eBay. But if you replace the instrument cluster it'll need to be coded to the car for it to work.

Will any injector cleaner help with injectors something like millers diesel eco or something
Yep try injector cleaner. And a diagnostic check. Could be a cam sensor.

I am changing that sensor today and also I’ve gotten a vag cable that is able to turn off immobilizer so I will be able to use my used ecu in the car to see if that fixes my issue
That's good then 🙂 please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
-
Could be an injector, cam sensor. I'd advise a diagnostic check. Did you change the engine mounts as discussed in your other thread?
-
I'd definitely change the sensor that's been superglued. Also I'd recommend getting an auto electrican to take a look as you've replaced a good portion of the faulty components. If it is the ecu you'll need to get it coded to the car.
-
there should definitely be one in the glovebox. But there could be one in the arm rest storage area. There might be a little cover over the hole for it, if it doesn't have it. But it might be prewired for usb. Or you could get an auto electrican to run wiring from the glovebox one to the slot in the armrest.
Also there are three models for AMI Interface: mini, micro and standard USB. Depending on the type the car has you might need an AMI-USB adaptor cable.

It's fine. My daily only gets 34mpg. And the Audi far less than that on short journeys.
Help!!

If you bought it from a dealer then you have 30 days for them to put it right or get a full refund.
Also I'd be looking at the antenna first as there's more than 1 fault code.
