Update.
Car went back to main dealer, ( not Audi) and "they" couldn't fix it,advised had to go to Audi with a 6 week wait time.
Rejected the car, and went for a similar car they had in stock, but with manual box.
Took a few weeks but had courtesy car, all in All can't complain how they handled the situation.
Glad you got sorted. Thanks for updating us.

When was the gearbox oil last changed? Old oil can sometimes cause issues with selecting gears.

Please have a look at one of the advertisers at the bottom of the website as they do custom hoses. Club members get 10% off.

If you use a vin decoder it should help tell you what spec you have. Or a sticker in the boot wheel well with various codes.

I think you'll need to get this booked into the main dealer as MMI issues are well documented.

Looking on autotrader of 24 models onwards most are not hybrid and all the 204ps ones aren't hybrid.

It already has a turbo or do you mean another ? And in regards to parts, do you know anywhere I can get them sourced ?
Upgraded hybrid turbo from turbo technic or similar.
Powerflow for the exhaust. They have suppliers nationally.

So stage 2 straight through exhaust such as powerflow etc.
Better injectors, turbo and intercooler.
Then remap. Don't forget to get the gearbox mapping looked at afterwards too.

This must be infuriating for you.

What have you done so far?
What engine is it?

Sounds like you're getting there 🙂 keep us posted if the key reprogramming fixes the issue.

Had a similar problem given DRIVE TRAIN FAULT or something like that.
Turned out to be a faulty tensioner pulley that keeps the belt around the starter at or correctly tensioned.
Glad you got sorted 🙂

This member has a similar issue and his mechanic did this temporary fix:

Also have you done any diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up?

I had a loose wheel speed sensor that was throwing up similar problems with warning lights, might be worth checking mate.

That's a good point Dave.

My bet would be on a faulty hazard switch. Id recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.

With the Peugeots it's a worn part at the base of the indicator stalk in the com unit, I don't know if/ the Audi units suffer with the same sort of issue.
This is quite common on the C5 Dave, and it's most often caused by the hazard switch failing as I had similar problems with my C5.

Darn, at least it was worth a shot. Could be an issue with the megatronics unit.
