Need help with phone in D2
tox posted a topic in Audi A8 (D2) ForumHi everyone. My 1997 Audi A8 D2 has never been equipped with a phone. Recently I got an Audi phone and beautifully installed it in my car not being aware that the phone works with the Bluetooth MMI module of cars like 2006 A4,6,8, etc. However, I am still looking for some ways to make it work as a separate GSM phone as it has the SIM slot and logically can work independently. I installed a cradle with a charger. However, the phone when starting it is looking for the Bluetooth base station, fails to find and that is it. Other options of Bluetooth other devices and many telephone options are faded, although the faded options show SIM card and many other usual cellular phone option. Several times it found other Bluetooth devices in my car but could not connect. So, I am left with questions and need your help: 1. How is it possible to make the phone forget the base station on Bluetooth and connect to other devices? Ideal option. 2. If 1 is not possible, how to stop automatic start of Bluetooth search? Mediocre option 3. What additional device from Audi electronics do I need to get the phone work? Costly option.
Telephone not installed
johnnyfaddo posted a topic in New Members IntroductionsHi guys, Just joined this and I have a Audi A1 Sportback 2012 SE 1.6 TDI , I am trying to use my MMI, when I try and use the telephone function it says that it is not installed, I have never been able to use this. Do I have to update my software or will it just not work with my model or something? Or is there a way I can activate it, it does not give me any options, it simply just says "Telephone not installed", so do I have to install it? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
pitchfork posted a topic in Audi A1 ClubWe just had a new company Audi A1 delivered, which although nice, has failed to have Bluetooth installed (even the garage couldn't work it out on the settings!) Anyway to cut a long story short, and no go to the cost of retro-fitting this, what alternatives are there for just making and receiving calls whilst travelling, so as not to break the law and answer a call!! :) We actually have an Aux In within the car which is fine for music and audio from our iPhone 5's but its just the calls. Is there a simple solution as in a mic that we could buy and attach to sun visor to talk and still use the Aux out cable for the car to hear the caller? Or maybe a comfortable headset with Mic (instead of the white apple earbuds) ? This maybe our purchase now, so any money saving solutions would be a great alternative. Thanks
