Allowed a friend to plug in her iphone to charge it from USB-C socket by gearstick… next thing the car starts uploading her data / removes my sat-nav data etc …. after overnight & after a couple of restarts it eventually restores me as key user etc. Suggestions please on how to do a simple charge - should I use the rear seat sockets or will the issue be repeated?

Hello Marc, ‘….probably fitting the same type again… ‘ If so, then the risk of the same end result may well remain. Why not dip into your pocket and get one (and the rubber seal) from Audi, and ask your garage to fit that. If you do suffer any issues after that, you can then eliminate the thermostat as the culprit. Regards, Gareth.

Dear All, I just wanted to remove my oil pan on my 2.0 TDI CGL 177ps multitronic Avant because of leaking (damaged draing plug hole). Everything is removed in the area, no bolts are holding the pan but I'm still not able to pull off, don't have enough space. I'm a bit confused at the moment, at the front I've also removed A/C compessor and removed 2-2 bolts from subframe but it is not moving anything...How can I create more space, any idea?

Considering buying a new A3, what are the weak points.
Magnet replied to mareng's topic in Audi A3 (8Y) Forum
This forum doesn’t have any issue with your user name either, but it does have certain standards in relation to actual names, and my personal view is that by changing it from ‘D’ to ‘&’ is simply an attempt to be clever and to extract the urine - impolite! I’ll refrain from further comments about your posts and wish you, and those you deal with at the dealer, good luck with your purchase. There we are then! -

Very nice. Think I've been past it. -
Thanks Naresh, I would suggest restricted use and very frequent level checking when you do have to use it. Don’t depend on the ‘low coolant ‘ message popping up to remind you to do that. Regards, Gareth.

Still shows as two broken play symbols on mine so just did two screen shots to show what it looked like.

I assume the large wheels will have very low profile tyres, an arrangement that is known to produce a much harsher ride than normal, so it's reasonable to believe that is what has knocked out springs and bearings. Not sure about the drive shafts.
