Sorry but I have no idea what your recent message is trying to say. Turning to my original post I am merely asking if any kind of chassis plate may tell me what the original carpet's colour was. I know the current ones are not the original carpets.

Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system?
Neil P replied to PocketsAintEmptyCuh's topic in Audi A7 Club
What a brilliant site this is, thanks to all posters. I've been struck by the dreaded BSGs as well. Last Saturday week I had the same sequence of lights very quickly resulting in a dead stop just before the A19, thank goodness. My car is a 2019 Q7 50TDI just out of warranty. I rang Audi Teesside, and they said get it to us and we will have a look but this will take at least a week! RAC recovery detected an alternator fault but they told me to verify this as they could not be 100% certain. They recovered the car to home and I arranged to get the car to independent Audi specialist. Last Thursday they told me that my BSG was faulty and a replacement would be 3K. I told them I would ring them back and subsequently found this site, thank goodness. Rang Lookers Teesside and told them my car was on it's way. They said they would have to do their own diagnostic checks They rang me back late Friday to say that the BSG is faulty. They did not know about the extended warranty!! what a surprise and they were getting in touch with Audi Technical. They rang back today stating that they have been instructed to undertake earthing checks, which they are on with They have as yet not mentioned a fee for the diagnostic checks or the earthing checks. I will keep you posted. Neil -
Forgot to mention that new AC compressor works perfectly fine minus the noise

Work has been going on in the background with this mainly gathering parts. I have ordered all the fasteners I think I’ll need, new shocks and springs, various links etc. Annoyingly the replacement subframe that I got had quite a few bolts left in that the breakers yard had cut off. I have managed to remove them all and have repainted it after some surface rust removal. It’s came up quite well and I have also used liberal amounts of cavity wax. I’m now toying with replacing the subframe bushes but I cannot for the life of me find a tool for it. I have found a bush removal tool for just about every other car. There are some that say Audi vw rear subframe removal tool but give no dimensions or say what models it’s for. Quite frustrating. Has anyone used or know of a way of removing these bushes ? Thanks in advance

Hi 👋 just wanted to drop on and say a big thanks for all the feeds and advice posted, I've solved a few problems just by reading the threads without needing to ask a question, it really is a wealth of knowledge from other members that take the time and trouble to help answer all these questions for help

Update: I successfully bought a correct set from www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk. The correct part is a Bosch A726 S. Local Audi garage wanted to charge me £90 for these but that website was £30.

Audi A3 How can I remove part of the dashboard?
The Verb replied to Bob1954's topic in New Members Introductions
Hi Bob Great idea. Have you tried asking google? I find lots of useful info there. On the panel on lower section on each side are narrow slots to fit a radio removal tool. I've just looked at my A3 and they are there. Found this link on google which may help -
Anybody have an issues with their timing belts on Audi A3 8V 150 TDI, mine was replaced before i bought the car, 2021, have been told they're good for 6 years, i can hear a noise sounds like it's coming from the Timing belt cover area 10 mins after it's been running, have just read that they do seize, and the car is sluggish on acceleration, which mine is.

Many thanks Rafael. So it would seem that it would be possible to place this number on a Retention Certificate ( cost around £110?), then select an agency to list it for you. Yes you gamble that money, but it does retain the number. Kind regards, Gareth.

I do not, but given that it is the cause of warranty cancellation I suggest you return it to the vendor.

Hello All I'm After some advice or what experience people have had with the dry dual clutch please. Done a service on our 19 plate A3 1.5 TFSI with 84000 on the clock and as a routine I look at faults using VCDS. Clutch pack 1 has come up as out of tolerance. It did flag up in August last year at 79000 miles. The latest fault is recent as I checked in April and it was not there. Car does judder intermittently in reverse, low gears and more so when hot. I was going to change the gearbox and mechatronics oil to see if it made a difference but stopped when I saw the fault again (I am aware this is filled for life but oil on the whole does not last indefinitely). On the whole car drives lovely and gear changes are hardly noticeable, except for the intermittent judder. Not wanting to be faced with a complete failure I can either change the clutch pack now (£2000 plus) or run with it for a while until the fault comes back and judder gets worse. Anyone had experience on this and outside of what I have had, any other warnings of impending failure? Thanks in advance

the veh had a v5 when i purchased it and it all got sent off i just stupidly didnt know what to look out for on the v5 before buying. info on my v5 is very basic compared to my other car, is missing the euro status, emmisions dets and i dont have any copies of the import paperwork as i was informed it had all been sent of to DVLA to register the car. lesson learned to research what sort of paperwork to expect to have if i ever buy and import again. I dont mind the leg work to sort it, its a learning curve, but it is somewhat frustrating that its not been sorted by the garage prior and im having to correct bits. Im a tad annoyed at VW here not being able to guide me a bit better of contacting their Japanese counterparts however as this wont be the first time this sort of thing has been asked of them so why cant they assist in providing an email address for Japan to get the details??? too difficult box maybe....

1.4 tfsi Clutch high and occasional squeal
cliffcoggin replied to Redred's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
It's not normal on any car. Your clutch is defective. -
Absolute gentleman but the offer remains open. Small update. I managed to get the low pressure warning to come up again, but only after lifting the bonnet again to change a bulb, which resets the oil level on the mmi, and after closing the bonnet, the oil level came up about 4-5 bars higher than where it was previously, registering almost full. I know the oil level should be at 2 bars above minimum on the mmi, as I put 4.5 litres in on a service 1300 miles ago and I have a small leak somewhere on the left side of the engine. Whilst it was like this I could trigger the warning easily by driving spirited at high rpm then idling. After about 30 minutes driving the oil level suddenly returned to where it should be. It will not throw the error again now the level has read correctly. So now I'm even more confused!

2023 A3 Sportback TFSI 35 S-Line Road Noise
cliffcoggin replied to NMB123's topic in Audi A3 (8Y) Forum
It's always the tyres. A harsh ride and excess noise is the price you pay for for the better handing of low profile tyres. -
Hi all I'm new on here. Big fan of Audi's I drive a 2014 A6 C7 Avant. I'm having trouble changing the reverse light bulb. I took the inner light cluster off the boot to realise that I can't get to the reverse light bulb. There is 1 bulb there but I'm guessing it's fog light bulb. Is this a sealed unit? Or am I missing something Please help Thanks in advance Kam

MMI- wireless connection to Android auto :(
asics replied to Loyalbear1872's topic in Audi A3 (8Y) Forum
Just back from a holiday (vacation for some) and had a SEAT Arona. The infotainment felt and looked very Audi MMI. Anyway, my Android phone connected quickly and reliably to the head unit every time - from cold and warm start. So it seems to me that any connectivity issues are on the Audi side. What are other seeing? Any updates available? -
Hello. I have an Audi 80 from 1994. I believe the model is b4 8C2. Its a 2.0l gasoline automatic. I have been trying to figure out the problem in it for a while now. Firstly it only used to unlock all the doors from the trunk and if you used other doors it would set off the alarm, until one day when the boot also did the same. Ever since it has no working central locking and does not shut off the alarm and immobilizer. The pump for the central locking has been changed and fully cut wires from the boot have been fixed. I have tried to find the immobilizer but have not yet found it. Also i have followed the wires for the pump but they seem to be fine. Neither pump seems to be running but the wiring does have voltage coming in. I have checked all the fuzes in the fuze box and tested varieties of fuses according to different diagrams. Thank you.

Hi guys Wonder if you have any suggestions., I have a 20 foot X 10 parking area with 2 paving stone runways to the side of my home great But to this side is a BIG SILVER BIRCH tree with a Conservation order on it. It is dripping lots of sap on the A5 CVT and the tree can't be altered. In front of my home leading to a garage is another drive maybe 15 feet I went to park the A5 but as I pull on the the drive before I get to the garage door the rear wheels on on the road level at the Dropped Curb, Front wheels are on the drive So the A5 thinks its on a hill and won't just Creep. At that point I am maybe 2 -3 feet off the Garage door. I start to to try a bit right pedal but i feel nerrvious i am just going to go into the garage door a BIT FAST rather than creep. Can i fiddle on the Brake button its a bit of a pain yet. I have parked normal Auro car on this drive but they did not know the were on a hill. Any ideas is it just right foot action ? Johnnym

Sorry couldn't find a way to edit this post. Not sure what this pipe is coming from under the air intake. The far end is not connected to anything. Is it suppose to be like that. Have looked a lot on line but can't get an answer. Thanks.

Hi can't find any good set ups . Pictures on some of the forums are a little vague. I have the 2.7T

Yes, it does have an SD slot, but from what I've seen on YouTube the car it should have a USB port as well, which my car doesn't.
