  2. Tell us more about the driver's door. Can it be moved up and down on its hinges? Do the hinge screws still have their original paint? Does it align with the striker plate when being closed, or does it need to be slammed hard to latch? When fully closed, does it align with adjacent body panels, or is it twisted?
  3. My Audi is looking for a new home. 147000 ISH on the clock but going well. Interested (I am in mid Sussex)

  5. Hi. When I fitted my spare wheel it dropped in underneath the boot floor, so there is no difference in the space available in the main boot. However, depending on the tyre and the fittings already fitted to the chassis underneath the floor you may get either more or less space for tools etc. my tools sit inside the spacesaver tyre which is handy. Hope that helps you out 馃憤

  7. Does anyone know what colour code the OEM springs are for a 2014 A6 C7 S-Line Ultra Saloon? Tried LLL parts but there's so many different colour codes that it nearly impossible to find which ones are right and I'd like to get the right springs that match the spec of the car. Cheers!

  9. I would look between the intake under the scuttle trim and the interior fan motor. That would be a typical location the sensor you are looking for would be situated. Will be a very basic 2 wire sensor. -50 usualy means sensors has failed/disconnected or broken wire. You can use a jumper wire to quickly test for a change in readings to ascertain it鈥檚 the sensor needing replaced
  10. Thank you. I鈥檝e exhausted patience with it, I don鈥檛 know a lot to do with cars and less with electronics. Will likely be gone for scrap. Appreciate your replies.
  11. Ideally you need someone who can look and understand the live data readings that a good diagnostics can provide and try to get the fault to occur while doing this to see what changes
  12. Hi guys, recently bought an audi a4 on 110k miles. since buying the car for 拢2000, i have spent nearly the same in repairs and garage fees. it has not been kind to me. Recently got the car back after having a new timing belt kit, water pump, 2 new camshafts, aux belt - the list goes on. within a week, my EML came on after dropping down a gear and i have loss of power after around 2600 revs, along with a flashing glowplug light. ive been told by a friends "mechanically minded" dad, that the turbo is goosed, but then i have also been told it probably will be the EGR Valve or even a boost pressure sensor! good to mention that there is no smoke on acceleration etc. codes found when plugged in: p0299 05171 confused is not the word. Any help is greatly appreciated as i genuinely think im going to write the car off at this point.
  13. I think you'll need to get this booked into the main dealer as MMI issues are well documented.
  14. Looking on autotrader of 24 models onwards most are not hybrid and all the 204ps ones aren't hybrid.
  15. Please keep us posted on how you get on 馃檪
  16. Yep it will do.
  17. Thanks for the detailed report Vytautas.
  18. John. Do you have question or did you join the forum merely to rant?
  19. Upgraded hybrid turbo from turbo technic or similar. Powerflow for the exhaust. They have suppliers nationally.
  20. It really couldn't be simpler or more straightforward if you've got two keys mate.
  21. Thanks Brian - I agree. These parts don鈥檛 seem very robust.
  22. Hey, tried this with my Audi A3 2021 Edition 1 and there wasn鈥檛 anything really exciting. All I ended up doing was turning lane assist memory on. If you have the obdeleven app you can preview what apps/features it thinks will be available for your car (even if you don鈥檛 have one yet) and I found it to be mostly accurate!
  23. Okay, thanks. Roger
  24. It is a bit. But, Audi South East said they can do the checks in a day, which is better. so, it is booked in this Wednesday 2nd July.
  25. Hi Audi A6 C8 50TDI Quat MY2020 bought from new owner here. Pretty sure my MHEV 48V system will be more or less identical to the A8. I had the similar electrical issue in Jan 25 described here, which was originally diagnosed as needing a new Starter Generator. The diagnosis was then amended to needing a new Starter Generator belt tensioner. This fixed the problem. Last week I had Electrical Failure with the yellow and red battery symbol along with the associated messages and sequential shut down of the A/C and MMI. When I tried to start the car, it would hardly turn over. Started it with my NOCO jumpstart which got it going. As the battery was clearly drained - probably as the result of getting no charge - I put the car on charge using the under bonnet red connector and nearby negative lug in accordance with the handbook. The following morning, I drove the car to Audi with as many electrical services switched off. Managed to cover the 15 miles ok but not sure how long it would have lasted for. Having done some research on-line, I found that a failed starter generator replacement is now a free of charge fix. This was great news, as the car is 5 1/2 years old. Picking the car up later this morning. Total time with Audi was 5 days including a weekend. It was a very good outcome, but I am concerned that the new part will be the same as the old part - but hoping it has been modified. Details for the A6 FOC repair are below. Not sure if it applies to the A8, but certainly worth checking. Recall reference R/2020/265 Recall Type Car Recall Date 2020-10-02 Reason for concern MOISTURE MAY ENTER THE BELT DRIVEN STARTER-ALTERNATOR Reason for recall It is possible that moisture may enter the belt-driven starter-alternator. 27. Hello, Hopefully someone here has managed to disassemble one of these control heads. I have managed all except for the last step on this 8X0.035.183.F from a 2014 A1. The middle switch is defective but I have found the exact replacement part 62AGY22033. I just cannot remove the circuit boards as shown in the photo. Two screws attaching the board have been removed but it won鈥檛 budge. There is an odd looking plastic extrusion just under the board that I suspect may be some sort of release but nothing I have tried works. I鈥檓 afraid to apply too much force. The metal chassis surrounding the board is loose from the front plate but is stopped by the CB from coming off. Thanks in advance if anybody knows the answer! Peter

  29. The cleanliness, part numbering and yellow paint suggest the engine has been newly rebuilt. Unfortunately as a private sale the vendor has little obligation to fix the leak unless you can show written evidence that he has deceived you regarding the engine condition.
