  2. I have a new A3 Black Edition auto. Within four weeks of delivery the engine cut out whilst driving, the drivetrain under positive power. The car rolled to a complete halt, the retardation entirely commensurate with the wheels driving a dead engine - it did not freewheel. The instrument panel remained powered and displayed no warning lights or fault messages. I shut the car down and after a pause restarted. Since then it has operated normally. The Distributor has found no data supporting the shutdown in the diagnostic system. Can anyone shed any light?
  3. Hi all I have had my A3 since September 2025 and I haven't yet been able to figure how to park it in my garage with the brakes off. It's an auto and I have read lots of stuff but I cannot figure it out. I may be stupid but there you go any helpful advice will be appreciated. JB
  4. Hi all does anyone have any idea on what this distinct tapping noise could be? had the rocker arms, lifters, injectors and all cam followers replaced and is still present. Noise is at idle and speeds up with acceleration and can hear it inside doesn't affect performance. Been advised by three separate mechanics its not bottom end so at my wits end really, any thoughts appreciated. Thanks a7bcf128-5947-4002-afba-29c811dd5d88 (1).mp4
  5. Hello all After a year of owning my first RS6 c5. It seems I'm in need of new strut top mounts. Do any of you have experience of the 034 rubber mounts? I've seen they are solid vs original ones that have bearings. How much of a difference does this make. And on a side note has anyone used RB Racing brake disc. What's your thoughts? Any help will be much appreciated Pete
  6. I bought a 2nd hand A1 TDI from a garage in Plymouth. It too had the same high pitched squeal which sounded louder from the rear right of the car, both inside and outside. We took our car to a local, trusted workshop for a service & they identified the engine bay fuel filter canister had never been replaced in its 75k history, despite the service history showing complete. A new filter was fitted and 10k later the car continues to run smoothly and quietly.
  7. My passenger door only unlocks during summer months, back door same side, intermittent during winter. Is there an explanation please?
  8. Sounds like a nightmare, I was sort of lucky in that respect I managed to get it to a side road and tried to keep enough space in front of me so it could be loaded onto a flatbed. When the AA arrived he said I could wait till midnight for a flatbed or we could move it by putting a second battery in the boot. As I had been waiting most of the afternoon I went with option 2, but I wasnt happy driving it too far.
  9. Hi, For what it's worth; I was lucky enough to have the Technology Pack on the A6 I bought, so I have the LED Matrix headlights and dynamic indicators on the front... I found some side (mirror) repeaters on eBay that were also 'dynamic' and had tinted plastic lenses so look black, like the rest of the car/mirror, until lit... And then the lights 'sweeps' outward in sequence like the indicators both front and rear. Cost me £30 for the pair, fitting is exactly as listed above, and they're still good 5 years later. Took the 'chinese knock-off gamble' and won, in this case. Hope yours are as easy as mine were to fit. Best Regards, Tigger
  10. Funnily enough I'm in the process of changing my suspension on my old A6 c5. From my understanding eibach pro kit are lowering springs. Bilstein b4 are or quality shocks. Steve Y recommend Kilen springs to me. But standard shocks and springs should suit your needs.
  11. I'd recommend getting a second opinion from another Audi dealer or inspection from an Audi independent specialist.

  13. Oh, well I have owned quite a few different cars over the years but never an Audi. My father used to have a B3 Coupé many years ago. If they are plagued by serious problems then of course that will make me consider not buying one, it's just I have been looking for about 4 years and haven't been able to find one, would feel like a lot of wasted time I guess.
  14. Hi it was not fitted to the car originally if that is what's happening, OBDEleven does that and claims the credits even if the process does not work. Steve.
  15. Took me most of the morning, but tracked down a wonderful guy, Alex of ASC in Swindon (07917 685555) who specializes in radio wiring> All good. Thanks
  16. Hi buy from Westway Lubricants on eBay its about as cheap as it gets and and the oil meets VAG specs. Steve.
  17. Hi you need to replace the whole thing, all four parts as it all wears as a set and the whole clutch will work out cheaper. Steve.
  18. Audi dealer called to say control unit turned up quicker then expected, asked them if they had any idea on why the unit failed and they do not and could not guarantee it would not happen again. I asked them to ask Audi if the fault happened again at 70 mph and we crashed due to the same fault affecting the steering control unit, steering and other driving features, would the interior safety features still work as designed as one of the reported faults was the proactive occupant protection showed a fault and said currently restricted, when I Iooked this up this is what I got, The "Proactive Occupant Protection: currently restricted" message on your Audi means the vehicle's pre-crash safety systems (like seatbelt tensioners, window closers, and airbag modules) have detected a fault and disabled themselves. This typically disables related features like Audi pre sense. Does not read safe to drive to me and in an event of an accident the driver and passengers would have zero protection. Awaiting to hear from the dealer and Audi. As I share this car with my wife she does not feel safe to drive the car and feels the car is unsafe to drive and also she is worried if it failed on her what would happen. Lets see what Audi and the dealer comes back with.
  19. Thank you Gareth for your advice. CHERISHED NUMBER PLATE - A7 GON Would look great on an Audi A7 or S7. Suited to a tuned Audi, especially as you race away from the lights "A7 GON" On retention certificate, it has been in my ownership for over 34 years, always got lots of attention and comments from enthusiasts whenever I was parked up. The plate is worth between £2,500 to £3,500 based on the format and the 3 letter word. I am open to offers in that range for a quick sale :)
  20. Hi group. I own a Audi A6 C8 2024 40 TFSI with nearly 40k ml. Does anyone have or had a similar issue? On a cold start the car is reving up to 1100rpm(which is normal), but when the revs dropped to 900rpm is doing an rattling noise. Is this normal? Audi dealership said is normal. 20260603_050835.mp4

I did a similar loop last spring and having a comfy trip down made the early starts much easier. For longer hauls later in the year, I booked my flights through https://travelbusinessclass.com and ended up saving a chunk on business seats, so I could actually arrive rested for once. For drives like yours, packing light and keeping a flexible schedule made the days feel way less rushed.
  22. Thanks for the reply , if its covered on warranty which I hope so, no probs . Strange thing is I had an S7 a few years ago and the same thing happened with that car , but the repair was done whilst the car was in for service. I will see what they say when I take it in Friday morning .

  24. Spartacus made a good point about insurance claims. If there were any they would have jacked up your premiums.
  25. Congratulations. Perhaps the seller faced bureaucratic hurdles posting it to outside the EU.
  26. Hi, so I’ve had my audi a6 just over a year now cars been brilliant tbh drives perfect, on Saturday I did a 350 mile round trip to London and back in one day no issues at all that’s probably the longest drive I’ve done in the car, today I was driving back from work I got a message on my dash saying gearbox malfunction, I scanned the car and it gave me these three codes P084000 Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch A P177500 Hydraulic pressure sensor 1 Adaptation at limit P060B00 Internal Control Module A/D Processing Performance Now a couple things to note, the oil was last changed at 118k the cars now sitting close to 155k miles, as it stands the car still runs and drives absolutely normal no issues at all, I did pull over and turn the car off then back on and the light disappeared but then came back on after around 30 seconds of driving I cleared the codes and they came back, has anyone came across this issue before it’s very random as I’ve never had any sort of warning signals like this I use the car daily and it always drives absolutely perfect
