  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks Cliff. Yeah I wouldn't expect it to be cheap tbh.🙂 Having to just put up with it for now until it can be seen, so will just be pleased to get it sorted.

Thank you Richard. I very much did have DAB for three years then it just dropped off suddenly in March or April. All of my saved DAB Radio stations still exists in my 'Memory'. The coincidence of me losing my DAB when everyone else did is too great to ignore, but perhaps it IS the DAB antenna ???? So that may be Audi Barnstaple and a large bill then ! Your help is much appreciated, thank you.
  4. No, since they presumably have been on the car for a long time so you would have noticed a noise long ago if they were responsible for it. You said, or at least implied, that the hum began recently, and the only other recent changes you have told us of are the front tyres and a CV joint. Constant velocity joints don't hum, but tyres do, so I have no doubt that one or both of the new front tyres is the cause of the noise. Have you tried my suggestion of fitting the spare wheel as a test?

  6. From that you it looks as if you don't have DAB on the set despite the DAB bit at the top. That suggests to me that you might well have a fault with the MMI or it isn't a DAB capable set. Have you had DAB reception in the past? There was a known software glitch in the 2016 A3 a few years ago that meant DAB just disappeared. Unfortunately it is a dealer only solution. Anyway on the Q3 the process is to go to the Waveband option and select the waveband you want. Here mine shows DAB, FM and MW (aka AM) as available. From this screen select the waveband you want and the update station list option is at the top of the list. I've selected DAB and as you can see the update option is there.
  7. Would the unmatched at the back not make the humming also ?

Thanks again Matthew, I did read the entire thread, will do so again, but seem to remember there were some A6's in there possibly ? Have a good Sunday and thanks again....
  9. I'm after a PFL B5 A4/S4 drivers wing, preferably in noggy blue, but will take any colour if the sing is solid with no bad rust issues.
  10. Perhaps it’s worth speaking with some other A3 owners, without scrolling back through this post I believe it was only Q3 & A1’s affected as they share the same/similar head unit. Either way the problem seems to have rectified itself now, so it may be coincidence that you lost stations at the same time and may be a genuine fault with your A3?

Sadly that doesn't work, it just singles out the top most station ! I lost DAB in March/April when everyone else did so I am sure it's the same fault. Very annoying and don't want to risk spending £160 with Main dealer only to have them fob me off like others in this thread ! I have done a reboot of the MMi, but also no joy from that. Grrrrrrrr
  12. Not too serious, but also not cheap to fix depending on what needs to be renewed.
  13. It's about £1700 Gareth. A considerable sum to lose if I am understanding Riyss properly.
  14. On the Q3 if you press the memory tab it takes you to the memory(your stored stations) if you press memory again it takes you back to the full station list.

Hi Paul. Thank you for your reply. I've had the car three years but the significant thing to say is my DAB dropped, stone cold dead, in March or April this year, which seems to be when everyone else's did ?

Thank you Richard. I can't seem to be able to navigate to a list of all stations ?????? I can get only as far as here.......... confused !
  17. Thanks - that doesn't sound too serious then.....
  18. Apologies, I wasn’t aware of the deposit paid - £ equivalent? Without looking it up. Non refundable may well alter the advice given.
  19. If I understand correctly you have paid a $3000 non refundable deposit so you are committed to buying the car. Is that correct? I suggest you assess whether the total purchase cost plus the cost of necessary repairs is worthwhile, or whether you should abandon the deal and lose $3000. Only you can make that decision in the light of local car values.
  20. So you have a pair of worn out tyres at the back and two unmatched new tyres at the front? It's not worth considering any thing else until you get the tyres sorted out.
  21. It's usually a faulty temperature sensor/control module. Diagnosis with a decent OBD reader should reveal the fault.
  22. Hello Riyss, It would seem that this car has had a ‘disrespectful’ owner. If I was in your situation, I would simply walk away and forget it. Aren’t there any other examples to consider?
  23. If it were mine, my priority would be to sort the tyre situation out first. On a personal preference basis, I’ve not had the life out of Handkook tyres that make them a worthwhile consideration - others may well have different experiences. I’m currently ‘experimenting’ with Kumho tyres on the non-Audi, in case it helps.
  24. Has anyone else experienced this? The cooling fan comes on when the engine starts - even when stone cold - and remains on until the engine is switched off. Accompanied by a drive system warning light. My local workshop has been unable to identify the fault. I will need to take it to Audi I guess, but would like to anticipate what it might be.
  25. I know. I have the same fear. It’s because I paid a deposit of 3k before I can take it for ppi. And I can’t get the refund unless car has major accident or engine issue. I’m stucked. It’s illegal to drive in Singapore with such tread level too. I believe he used to drive the car up to north Malaysia frequently as he is a Malaysian. And it’s roughly 600km from Singapore to north Malaysia. I assume he has been driving harshly which causes all these wear and tear so quickly. Is this wear and tear concerning given the age of the vehicle ?

  27. Does anybody know if it is possible to increase the volume of the bleep on the sign based speed reminder. Thank you for your help
