  2. @Magnet All monthly plans are on the Audi site. https://customer.vwfs.co.uk/service-plans/audi.html?traci_c=UK|SI|GA|S|AUDI:DM-P:&traci_s=SI:AUDI:SEA:Google:SearchAd:2023-01:&traci_ee=19596460443:146596466618:645967750295::::&traci_t=audi service plan:e::&s_kwcid=AL!10901!3!645967750295!e!!g!!audi service plan&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19596460443&gbraid=0AAAAAoaLYNOzJR_hMM5mpP3XlWvNIY98q&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvajDBhCNARIsAEE29WruACJdkBiN3UYtDG8ztpgHN4AN-1WdhB2fjwLrz1bSsB3byTcHGkwaAvtIEALw_wcB
  3. think i have found out where my water ingress is coming from its washer fluid topped up 3 times today and dropped below the plastic strainer cup does the pipe run down the drivers side
  4. Thanks Gareth, I had the connector under the driver's see replaced just last year. That's why I thought I might have caused it disconnecting and reconnecting the door motor. Will try the spray as you suggest. Will also ask the local garage to run a fault diagnostic.

  6. Thanks Pauline, For the benefit of others, could I ask how much a month this plan works out at?
  7. Sorry to hear that Reg, Re. air bag light- get yourself an aerosol of contact cleaner, move the seat back as far as possible and squirt the contact cleaner on all the electrical plugs you can find under there. Do not ( in biggest caps!) disconnect anything - simply spray and wiggle the plugs. Hood warning light? Not sure about that, but could well be to do with something you have disturbed within the door/ flexible harness. Regards, Gareth. Reset? would have thought the car was to early for that.
  8. @MagnetNo warranty as car is now 8 years old. I used to have an all in one policy which included warranty, two services and two MOTs. Service has been every yearly. New service agreement is two yearly services and 2 MOTs. Service plan is extensive and one I'm happy with. As I've said local 4x4 garage couldn't match it. Not much choice of garages in this rural part of Cornwall. @spartacus 68 Petrol / automatic. Low mileage may change - I need to see how I'm fixed over next few years. Really don't want to look at changing for another two years anyway.
  9. Thanks everyone for your feedback. As a postscript to solving my window problem I have now got an air bag warning light and intermittent hood warning light. I assume I might have caused this when I was removing and refitting the window motor. Do I need to do some sort of reset? Thanks
  10. Thanks Pauline, When you say you have taken out a 2 year service plan ( with Audi main dealer), can we take it that is for a service contract and does/doesn’t include warranty cover? How many services do you get for that during the 2 years, and at what mileage intervals? At what intervals (mileage) has the car been serviced at Audi over the last 4 years? Regards, Gareth.
  11. Update- I seem to have fixed this issue by resetting the MMI- so far so good.
  12. Suspect the plastic lever is on the underside of that electrical connector, normally press the tab and pull the plug at the same time. You can use a flathead screwdriver against the side of the expansion tank and the sensor and tease it out. Don’t use force. More details here.
  13. Photo as promised
  14. I think you’re worrying unnecessarily, 3k miles a year is very low. Actually, that can work against you with short runs and car not coming up to temperature. Just make sure oil is changed annually. 2017 Q5 is a timing chain too, so no belts to change other than auxilliary drive belt. Fuel filter on a diesel is every 20k miles, but suspect TFSI is in with the pump in the tank. Audi will no doubt says it’s non serviceable, but that’s not true and can be done, but hey that’s just me, especially given changes to fuel unless you run super unleaded all the time. Other than that, brake fluid every 2 years and keep air con serviced.
  15. Any update for us Ed?
  16. Even the Audi part is reputed to be unreliable so it's possible your new one is faulty, in which case it would be unwise to drive the car until it goes to a garage. However I think it is more likely to be a failing battery as Steve Q mentioned because of the stop/start fault. Let's hope the diagnosis shows something.
  17. Hi Magnet. Yes - that's right After the all in one policy I had for two years, following the original two year warranty ran out, I've now taken out a 2 year service plan . Compared the cost of that with a local 4x4 garage , partners used for some time for a 4x4. . Main Audi came in cheaper. Nothing in it and I get to borrow a car for the day. Local garage don't offer that. 44000 mileage to date on my Audi and I now only do 3000 a year.
  18. Hi All, is there a good cheap source for rear Jack inserts as they seem quite pricey direct from Audi?
  19. Hi it looks like my connectors that connect to fuel filter are broke, anyone point me in right direction where I can get new ones?
  20. Thank you cliffcoggin. Lots to read on that forum. I have read about the warnings on other forums which lead me to buying a sensor and having a go myself. The company I bought from: "partsforgermancars" has been mentioned here a few times. Perhaps the switch is faulty but we have no way of finding out.
  21. AlexR - unfortunately it's nothing to do with a recall and never will be safety related, despite cars stopping in live lanes etc. Glad your dealer and Audi played ball. There are lots of people who haven't been that lucky. Audi have been in damage limitation mode.
  22. I noticed something. The ingnito key is sending unregular voltage to the relay. When i feed the relay with full voltage during ignition the engine starts without cranking.
  23. Hello, Time to introduce myself. I’ve been an Audi owner for the last 10 years, a couple of A1s but mostly A3 Sportbacks. I’ve just traded in my 2020 A3 Sportback S-Line Black Edition 35 Tdi manual transmission for an ex-demo 2024 Audi A3 Sportback Black Edition 35 TDI 150 PS S tronic in Daytona grey, pearl effect and including the Technology Pack. First registered 27th November 2024 and I picked it up on 23rd April this year. Picture to follow. John
  24. Thanks Allan, Wondering if 8mm ID fuel hose might do - make sure it's S.A.E J30 R9 ( the R9 higher pressure rating is important ). I understand the well respected Gates now do a braided version, so well worth searching that out. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  25. Apologies over delay, photos sent and the internal measurement is 8 mm, any other information req please message me , thanks guys. Alan
