  5. I'm lost as to what 'not quite the same' means Magnet
  6. Yes this is copy from the app Product details The services of Audi connect Remote & Control connect the vehicle with the smartphone. With the myAudi App, the vehicle can be accessed remotely, the last parking position and the current vehicle status can be viewed. This includes the current mileage, the next inspection and information on whether doors and windows are locked. If necessary, the vehicle can be locked and unlocked remotely. Certain optional extras can also benefit from the online connection. For example, a push notification can be sent to the smartphone when the anti-theft alarm system is triggered or the parking heater can be started via app. The package includes the following services: - Car Finder - vehicle status - Remote Lock&Unlock - remote auxiliary heating - theft alarm notification
  7. Is that the Audi Connect / MyAudi app thingy? I cannot check this out until I have the car, I need the key code to look at the app.
  8. SKF is a quality part. Stick with your mechanic, if you trust them, then that counts for a lot. I’m sure you’ll get to the bottom of it.
  9. Also paid £36 for a years Audi remote service so I can check the that the cars locked and location, if the alarm goes off u get notification on ur phone app
  10. I will check through the service pack on the car and see what's coming up.
  11. Think the brake fluid change is every 2 years after 3 years old too
  12. Yes it is a Auto, and I have read it will need the oil change, is it roughly £200?
  13. I’ve just taken out another All in service plan out 3 months ago just to give me peace of mind really , the last plan I claimed for both rear doors locks and also a brake servo restriction fault which would have cost me over £1000 if the dealership was charging me so in that respect the first service plan paid for itself really If urs is an auto the gearbox oil requires replacing @ 38k miles,
  14. Hello Colin, I would want to know the extent of the leak - liveable with? Also, is the oil consumption something you could live with by buying heap oil? You say it has a recent MOT, so worth just using it as long as you can? Kind regards, Gareth.
  15. Stunning. I do love an A8 d3 👍
  16. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 looks a lovely car.
  17. Thank you Tony. By what I can see you stated you ‘ cleaned the dizzy cap and rotor arm’ - not quite the same? I think I’ll dip out of this one.
  18. Hi Skiduk I’ve got the same A6 model, had it 3 years now and still love it , Ive used Derby Audi for servicing which has been under Audis All in service plan. My front brakes pad are down to 70% wear and Audi have just quoted me £1050 just for front discs and pads, I’m going to do them myself and have managed to get the parts for £350 . Rear spring mount rubber’s corroding was an mot advisory when the car was 4 years old, Audi quited me £320 each side for replacing them but did them myself rubber mount were £50 , Tyres Continental x4 £860 . My A6 has had 2 faults in the it’s 5 years which were both rear door locks playing up and they were replaced and a brake servo restriction fault ! That was a little pressure switch near the servo that monitors vacuum, both fault were repaired under the all in warranty . I don’t think it’s been bad at all personally Hope this helps mate
  19. Must of missed that Magnet, I've no points just coil to dizzy/ rotor arm
  20. Hi all, I bought this lovely S8 knowing it had an abs pump issue. I purchased a 2nd hand abs pump which had the exact like for like part numbers however, I can't get the thing to code successfully. The old faulty unit can't be read either to copy the codes. Does anyone know how to code the replaced unit to the car? Im happy to pay whatever the price is and I can travel too. Thanks
  21. My 2022 Q5 PHEV will take a charge and will display it has 23 miles on the charge and within 2-3 miles the battery is completely depleted. Any advice on what to do would be appreciated.
  22. My new toy. Stumbled across it whilst at work and after showing interest, the owner offered it to me for a fair price. Anyone happen to know this car?
  23. Thanks for your advice Clifford. It wasn't what I wanted to hear but it is what it is, I guess. I have already been in contact with the two leads you supplied. Any idea what the scrap value of my car is? Kind regards, Colin Dimes.
  24. Please answer the question Cliff asked Tony - distributor has points and condenser or not- ?
  25. So how do I go about testing my coil without removing it.
  26. I'm only on my second Audi but it does seem that water ingress, electrical issues, and a combination of the two are a constant problem whatever the age of the car. It's like owning a 1970's Alfasud but without the rust. Shame as I really love styling and the way they get down the road.
