Yes the reflectors are fine and lenses are pretty clean there is no “smoke stain” (all I can think of explaining what I mean) on inside face of glass. I will order new bulbs at least then I know they are ok thanks again for your time 👍

Creaking from Wheels - Technician said it's normal??
DeanLFC93 replied to DeanLFC93's topic in Audi A3 (8Y) Forum
Thank you so much - It is driving me crazy and the consultant is doing his best to help including getting a second opinion, I was a bit confused when the specialist told me it's normal and it's just tension when the courtesy car and my previous aygo have made any of these noises! -
Ya will do thanks . I'd imagine if it was leaking for a long time I'd have some alarm by now.

Fair enough, but if you began to see oil spots on the ground where you park don't delay doing something about it.

hi has anyone out there got a 16" space saver wheel pcd of 5x100 for sale or would like to swap for a space saver wheel 5x100 18" not used if so please let me know cheers

Never get an alarm in the car for low level gearbox oil , and no trace of any oil on the ground where i park , think it might just be a case of a sloppy mechanic when last serviced , which was 45000 km ago . And haven't had to top it up since .

Thanks Brian, Autodoc has had mention in relation to the supply of incorrect parts. I’ve never been affected by this, because I don’t buy from them, preferring not to pay highish postage charges compared with other suppliers. Regards, Gareth.

Absolutely Martin - it’s your car, and you are free to do with it what you will, and my feeling is that any advice given ( when asked for) which doesn’t concur with your views, will be ignored. I certainly won’t be chasing you again for a thread-closing update, since I feel the tread will remain as ‘unsolved’ anyway.

Just an update, I've got hold of a audi tech as a foreigner and he has told me the one I ordered is general part and not the exact audi part no. This has now been ordered and should arrive on Monday. But I now have a power steering warning light as well, I'll keep the thread updated and if the new ring fixes my problems I'll place the part no in the feed

Glad you got it sorted out.

Its with an auto electrician atm so I'll let him know to double check that Thanks buddy ill let you know if it works or what the issue was otherwise Best Saad

Creaking from Wheels - Technician said it's normal??
cliffcoggin replied to DeanLFC93's topic in Audi A3 (8Y) Forum
Dean. You are not going crazy, and the technician is talking rubbish by saying it is normal. That's not to say the creak indicates anything unsafe, but the noise would irritate the hell out of me. I suspect the rubber bushes in the front steering and suspension links, despite the claim that some have been renewed. -
It may well be that simple, but get it tested to be certain. And if the battery does need to be renewed, ensure it is coded to the car to ensure it is charged correctly.

I used to keep getting the same problem on my '04 A3. It used to happen every time I gave my mate a lift (putting it politely he's generously built). Turns out when he put the seat all the way back it was undoing the connector under the seat. Could be worth a look if you put the seat back to work on the blower.
-
Thanks mate So it might be as simple as just replacing the battery?

Rear reversing led bulb recommendation
daveyboy1967 replied to Davegoorn's topic in Audi A3 (8P) Forum
Bet you can't wait for it to get dark so you can try them out! Seriously though, they make a huge difference. -
If the battery is more than six years old there's a good chance it is defective, and therefore responsible for the dim lights etc. Get it tested by an auto electrician. Do not use a simple voltage meter as it will not reveal internal defects in the battery.

Hi guys I found a reversing bulb that doesn’t throw up a fault code on my dash on my 2010 A3 8p it’s made by Aslent (China) it’s a P21W fitting

So an update on readings. Been back out to do a better job of recording voltages. Multimeter on car ground to the following pins: with ignition on but not running Pin 1- 4.98v Pin 2- 0v Pin 3- 12.19v Multimeter on car ground to the following pins: car running Pin 1- 4.99v Pin 2- 0v Pin 3- 14.37v - 14.45v when rev'd Variance between pins 1 and 3 - 9.3v And pins 2 and 3 - 14.4v All seems normal yet something blows the maf sensor. Could the Multimeter response time be insufficient to pick up voltage transients? What am I missing here? If anyone could provide their voltage readings as a comparison it would be appreciated. If anyone has any ideas of what to look at next, that'd also be appreciated. Would different measurement equipment be more suitable? Oscilloscope?

Does anybody know the paint code for the Matt Metallic Grey Lower Skirt on the 2016 8V. I can't find a reference to this on any of the documentation. I assume this is a standard colour across all body colours? My body colour is Monsoon Grey.

Hello all, I bought an Audi A3 Sportback (2021) from a dealership and the sales consultants have been very helpful during the process and I can't say a bad word about them and they have said it to see a specialist technician from Audi/Volkswagen group. The issue I initially reported is that there is a creak/groan coming from the wheels and you can hear like a bed spring inside the car when turning, this is happening when stationary but also when in motion at times, it goes away at high speeds. The technician investigated this and said no issue was found and he even invited me to a test drive to see but he said it's 'normal' and it's 'just tension' Past issues Recently repaired Suspension arm brushes (new) and gear selector The tech said "Two of us have both looked under the car and everything is good and tight" Please can you confirm I am not going crazy and that this is a genuine issue? undefined - Imgur.mp4 undefined - Imgur (1).mp4
