Would have a go, but keep reading it's a bugger to get at or is mine easier depending upon year, not sure. Is there anywhere on the forum that could help with that.

An oil catch pot is a crude and only partial solution. Better to solve the real problem rather than introduce a bodge in the hope that it might alleviate the symptoms. As for the codes, ignore them. Take off and clean the EGR valve, ditto the DPF.

Congratulations! The car definitely takes second place. Hope you all have a fantastic day tomorrow. Hope the weather is great 🙂

How do I know exactly what is the issue as code I'm sure was p0401, have deleted and hasn't came back on yet but sure it will return, said something like insufficient flow of egr. So is cooler OK?, is dpf OK? Does anyone know the codes for these parts. Or do you just replace everything connected with emissions. Obviously something is chocked but what to do. As for my original question or part of.. is an oil catch can worth fitting? Appreciate all comments and suggestions. Thanks billy.

Thank to you all for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it. My head is elsewhere tonight as my daughter gets married in the morning. A big weekend ahead 🙏🤠🍻

Why can't the dealer get the electronic print out? Make sure there's proof of cambelt and water pump change and gearbox oil service. I got an electronic print out for my ford Kuga recently and it had 30k miles missed off it! Even though it's only been serviced at midnight dealer from new. Luckily my Kuga still has a service book and I've got the invoices. The problem is now with GDPR it's harder to see the proof of work done

Hi I would caution against this as there are two EGR systems on your car and as far as I am aware NO ONE has developed the software to disable both, the main EGR never goes but then in the DPF is the other valve and cooler which you can't eradicate due to the complexity of the software involved, as Cliff pointed out the blanking/deletion of the main valve will give you raised cylinder head temperatures due to the hotter gas and most likely premature turbo failure because of the extra thermal stress, apart from which what are you actually going to get for £250 apart from wallet destruction in the not to distant future. Steve.

Hi everyone I had the fun task of replacing all front control arms and the strut mounts on my 2011 Q5 TDI. This fixed the creaking noise I'd get when turning the wheel or going over humps. The problem I now have is that I have a slight grinding noise when turning the wheel. Just wondering if anyone can help me pinpoint the issue. My next steps are to review all the parts to see if I can ascertain what's going on. Please take a look at the attached video. Thanks in advance. 20241030_080309.mp4

Put new a new oil pressure sensor in last night which seems to have fixed the problem. I also noticed my intake wasn't sitting properly on the turbo and was loose. Re-fitted everything and now I have no codes and the car isn't running lean anymore. thanks everyone for your help!

Stevey Y started following A3 1.0 tfsi engine and Changing 2017 rear bumper into 2020?

Hi its doable but you will have to buy a new rear bumper, lower bumper trim and lose the existing rear box for the exhaust, all big money items the bumper skin itself is over £500 without the lower trim and new fixing brackets, can't see why you want to change it when you can't see it while you are driving and I am sure the driver of the car behind wont care either. A3 1.0 tfsi engine
cliffcoggin replied to jjean's topic in Audi Parts and Accessories For Sale & Wanted
You are unlikely to do so, and even if you do find one with a service history it will not be worth the paper it is written on. In my opinion you would be better served by buying a complete secondhand engine and have it reconditioned yourself, however that will not be cheap. -
I feel I must echo Gareth's caution. Buying a car without seeing its service history first, is like buying the car without looking at it first or test driving it. Trusting the dealer's word is risky in the field of car buying. That's not to say all dealers are shady characters, but there are enough of them in the market to make me very wary.

Now tried P in M?

Hello Martin, OK, once you register the car in your name then it’s yours - even if the car turns out not to have any, or FSH. I guess you are assured by the seller that ‘the service history is there will the dealer’. If so, why cannot the seller obtain evidence of that? In addition, I’ve not failed to get service computerised information from main dealers for a vehicle that I’m interested in buying, even though I had not bought it at that stage. GDPR:- The main dealer will understandably not release details of the previous owners names and addresses, but should be able to confirm what services it’s had at what mileages and dates. Of course, your call. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. You may be getting the cambelt and water pump renewed (with aftermarket parts) even if it might previously been replaced using Audi parts. Still…..

Hi any second hand engine you buy from any place will only have a milage and a short warranty, they dont do service history at vehicle recyclers. Steve. -
Hi could well be, how many miles? Steve.
-
Hi Magnet. Thank you for your post. I'm assured that the service history is there with Audi. It will be available to me when I register the car in my name. I can't access the history as it in the previous owners name and because of data protection. I have been assured by the dealer today that that the car has a full service history. Regards Martin.

Hopefully I can get some answers here so I finally own A5 2017 Sportback and I really love my car but if I miss one thing it's the rear bumper, I have a little bit of OCD and new one is perfect for that below is mine and new one, my question is am I able to do this upgrade on mine? And if yes, can someone point me in right directions where to start? I'm from Europe, Ireland. Thank you.

Hi all, I’ve just installed aftermarket CarPlay, all is working but Siri. It shows the little animation as if Siri is talking but there is no sound. When I hold the voice command button on the steering wheel, it’s the Audi voice command but it does also activate Siri but again no sound. Siri works as expected on my phone just not through the CarPlay system. anyone had this?
-
Your choice of course, but a little pot of paint would cost far less than a new piece of glass. Do let us know the outcome of whatever decision you make.
-
One of the experts here will tell you that unless such work is done properly the engine will run hot and destroy itself. That would be far more expensive than replacing the EGR and DPF.
-
Not really easy to see but looks like may be several breaks in heater element. Thinking it may be new screen required
-
Can you see a break in the element? If so it may be possible to repair it with conductive paint. https://yourcar.co.uk/best-heated-rear-window-repair-kit/
-
How did you check the battery? A simple voltage test will tell you nothing about the real condition of the battery. It needs a deep discharge test, (i.e. a load of more than 200 amps rather than the few milliamps of a multimeter,) to simulate real conditions and reveal internal faults. If your battery is original there is a fair chance it is defective and responsible for the faults you noted.
