  1. Past hour
  2. Well the issue might have been found in the boot loom connector. Unfortunately i do not have time to fix it now but i will see in the comig days.
  3. It’s £900, all the reg sales companies value it at between £1100 & £1250, cheers
  4. Recently had a friend that was having a similar issue..... Same kind of car, came out of a roundabout and heard something "Pop". Told himself he hit a stone or something and thought no more of it until he said the "Ride got stiffer and bumpier" as he went along. Got about 15 mins from my place and gave me a call! I went down and there he was sitting lower than my D3 A8. Jack out, wouldnt fit under the car.... Wooden blocks out and drove up onto them to get the jack under the front end. Turned out his suspension link (Bottom arm to ride height sensor) decided that it no longer wanted to be connected at both ends..... And the little Ball joint that it connects into was broken and half of it was in the suspension link itself. Into my little box of tricks and i pull out a little bag full of small ball joint fittings, a 9mm spanner and a 10mm spanner. Remove whats left on his lower arm and replace it with a new one! a bit of fiddling and cursing and i got the ball out of the link bushion and popped it back onto the new ball joint! Bingo hes back in action! He had been pricing new struts, new compressors and all sorts while i was on the way to him and he was a very dejected man when i handed him my keys and told him to go get us a coffee while i had a look!!!!! When he arrived back and i told him i had a diagnosis and a price for him to be back on the road he looked like he was going to have a stroke!!!! I told him it wasnt as bad as he thought and told him he would be back on the road in about 15 mins and for the price of "Free" and i thought he was going to drop in front of me! I always tell people when theres a problem like this, not to think of worst case straight off as often there is a simple enough solution!
  5. Price please Dave?
  6. On your phone bluetooth menu, select the mmi connection and check the settings allowed. you should have a couple of options in there like the pic attached. Make sure the Media audio option is allowed. (thats the first thing i would do anyway)
  7. Today
  8. I have a private plate for sale S4 AOO, on retention and ready to transfer
  9. Have you checked the engine or gearbox mounts? Could it be a clutch/dmf issue?
  10. Any second hand one or new one will need to be coded to the car.
  11. I wish you luck.
  12. James. The distinction between remanufacture/rebuild/repair is almost nonexistent. They all amount to exchanging worn parts for new. I believe you have two choices. One, go to Audi and pay a large fortune for the repair. Two, find a specialist gearbox repair company and only pay a small fortune. Don't be tempted to buy a secondhand unit and least of all don't buy one from Ebay.
  13. Thank you for your reply. I have the invoice for brake pads ( dated 18//07/23) and they are Borg and Beck BBP1766 from Motor Parts Direct - I have checked their web site and they are correct. I note new discs were also fitted at the same time supplied by them BBD4509, which are correct. With regard to carrier wear the car has done 12500miles, and don't believe the car has been driven hard, since I know the previous owner, who has owned the car from new. Thank you for the very helpful diagrams and note the only spring on the caliper shown is on the outer which I have replaced. I find this unusual as other calipers I have worked on have springs in the base of the carrier and hold the pads tight in the holder. I have ordered some ceramic brake grease and will carry your recommendations and will let you know. Thank you again.
  14. Audi A4 B8 2013. MMI let's me connect my phone for calls but not for audio. I had an issue a while ago where the MMI wouldn't work at all, but got that sorted, turned out to be a fuse. Everything was then working fine, it's just suddenly stopped playing the audio through my phone. Any ideas please? Thank you
  15. The problem is vibration between one and 2000 revs after that, the car drives fine
  16. Picking up my S5 Avant today. Lets hope a few months of customer "beta" testing has ironed out the glitches. I have been advised that there are a few features that are pending updates. Thankfully SW updates are over the air - or are they?? I have worked in an electronics and software environment and all new products will have glitches, bugs, undocumented features and ultimately recalls where over the air fixes are not possible. The price to pay for initial exclusivity? Agree with the comment about the S5 being more like an A6 regarding dims and possibly appearance. From my perspective this is a plus as I am trading in my trusty A6 C7 for it. The load space is less but the towing capacity is up, BONUS! The car is on 20" rims, not sure 19's are an option - I did not configure my car but did not see other wheel options on the Audi configurator site. The car has more toys than Santa's workshop - its going to be some time before I find and test them all but looking forward to it.
  17. I wish to refurbish or purchase new centre wheel caps. Cannot find reasonably priced ones. Any suggestions would be helpful.
  18. I had the MAF sensor changed and a fault lit up again, did a little research and found that there is a pressure sensor for the DPF. Located tot he rear right of the engine - top. I recall mine was about £28 from Euro Car Parts and a 10 minute fit.
  19. Yes. I have gone through a whole lot of forums and post that have not ever resolved the problem. But im hopeful someone happens to find this and have a new fix. Also i have figured that ill have to check if the wires from the boot are broken in multiple places possibly because first we found some of them had been cut due to the constant wear. But they could be broken from multiple places. Since if i measured right the vacuum electric wires are getting power when they should not but the vaccuum pump still is not running. And if worst comes to worst im going to try and bypass the alarm and immo.
  20. What make are the pads and rotor? Is there excessive corrosion on the brake carrier so it’s lost shape. Have a look at diagrams here and cross-check on your engine code. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/audi/RDW/A6/448/6 For brake sliders, pad shoulders and piston face use a little ceramic brake grease. The brake carrier bolts should be okay to undo if you’ve new hardware. These bolts tend to seize if left untouched for periods of time.
  21. Thanks Magnet I have downloaded a service repair manual of Esty I think it was but prefere a proper book online manuals I seem to be allways scrolling about and hunting that is what it is .
  22. Hi folks, the mechatronic unit in my a6 is needing replaced and I’m looking for any suggestions or recommendations on garages that would be able to do this? I know about re manufacturing but don’t know how to go about it. Any help would be brilliant. Thanks
  23. Yesterday
  24. Stripping the calipers is a good idea, but I can't help with personal experience or diagrams.
  25. Getting blood from a stone is easier.
  26. Oh I see now. Nope it seems to operate as normal, starts easily every time.
