  2. hi i am looking to change my 17" wheels on my audi a1 2015 s line for 16" ones 215/45/16 with the same p c d of 5x100 will they fit ?? and will they put my speedo out of sink ?? i cannot find audi ones in good condition and at a good price so i thought to ask if this can be done . thank you for any help cheers
  3. I have had my A6 now just over 2 weeks, and really impressed with it so far and happy with the purchase. Got a free month with AudiConnect navigation etc, its a shame its £14.99 a month, I think its a bit steep. If it was more like £7.99 I would be more likely to subscribe, as I like using the cars integrated features. My main dilemma and the reason for the post, is what to do with servicing. Audi plan is £36.99 per month for 2 years (you can have one for £35.99 which is 2 services & pollen filter changes, no warranty) 1 x oil service 1 x oil & pollen filter change 2 x mots 2 years road side and warranty How does the above work if its a major service, does the price of the major get reduced with one service knocked off? or just go with an Audi/VW specialist garage I found who seem reasonable. I have 33,500 miles so going to need a Major service at £342 and gear box oil at £258, do these prices below seem fair? 4. Yeah either way I will be keeping on an ear for it over the next while but driving wise it seems fine for now

  6. Hi all, new to the site and looking for some info. I changed my coils packs the other day (2008 TT 2.0 tfsi) and when replacing the engine cover, I noticed a small rubber pipe at the rear of the cover, around 2-3 inches long and about half inch in diameter with a tiny hole in the center. I have no idea what it is for, but I am hoping it was not connected to anything. I can not see anything there to connect it to so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Just traded in my A3 I’ve owned for the past 6 years for a Q5. Generally very happy, however I bought a Bluetooth to Ami module that refuses to be recognised. My system seems never to have had maps installed either. No matter what I’ve tried, I so far have failed miserably to update it or install maps from an official SD card. According to everything I’ve researched I’ve got the correct update, but the device just gives a conflict error. Apparently I’ve got MU9303 and the update refers to MU9307. My current system is BNav_EU_P0206_D1 Which should update to BNav_EU_K0260_1_D1 Confused!!
  8. In the Audi’s workshop manual they specify max 2 mm wear on the discs , that’s only 1mm each side does seem a lot !
  9. Either am I, and to correct myself above it was the discs but even still they're fine. Unfortunately I dont have a ramp to put it up and check myself but the car itself drives fine so I'll keep an eye on it for now! I've attached the health check report I got anyway
  10. If I drive it easy it should be fine until it goes in. Not to the 7th of July now so will keep yous updated.
  11. Mechatronic units can be troublesome after a few years causing symptoms including erratic gear changes. Apparently they can be repaired by specialists at a fraction of the cost that Audi charges.
  12. Any you guys have similar issues?
  13. Does sound like a megatronics unit unfortunately
  14. Great stuff, please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
  15. You're welcome, glad you got sorted 🙂
  16. Well that didn’t fix it. Just took it for a drive. Would hold gears at redline and not change up for a second or so then sometimes in manual it wouldn’t shift up. Had to press paddle twice. Then 1-2 again it went into malfunction. Think it must be the mechtronics if that’s what u call it
  17. It would be interesting to know if that provides a long term solution. Do please let us know.
  18. ThanksSteve Q. I popped in to my local dealer and explained the problem. Spoke to a young woman who reset my user. She looked at the screen and after a few moments of trial and error she found all that it needed was to press the roller wheel next to the OK on the steeling wheel and the message disappeared! Thanks for the help any one who replied on this forum. Kind regards
  19. Quick update on the gearbox issue. Mechanic told me to disconnect battery. Reconnected after half hour and to be fair the gearbox shifted seamlessly then went back into fault from 1-2. I’ve just got the stage 1 remap removed today and no issues at all so far. I’m wondering if the ecu map has caused this as I didn’t get the tcu done. It’s now booked in on the 7th to get looked at anyway. It’s so slow tho.
  20. Many thanks, everyone, for your helpful and supportive input. I contacted the Latvian supplier today and got a quick reply, which was encouraging. Based on this, positive assurances from 3 friends, who are experienced eBay users and who reviewed the Latvian option, and the garage's confirmation that I can leave the car with them for as long as it takes, I ordered the part 10 minutes ago. Fingers crossed! Thanks again.
  21. Afternoon all, So my 07 plate A3 I purchased recently didn't have working AC. I took it to a garage to get regassed and was told it didn't work. I then took the car to a mate who ran his diagnostic tool over it and got the error see in the attached photo. Can anyone give me some clear directions as to where I can locate this sensor as iv done what I feel is a good search and don't seem to have come across it . Originally I thought it was the one behind the glove box, but after replacing that, I found out, that it wasn't that one. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Ricky

    HELP?!

Your own cable or a tethered one on the charge point?

    HELP?!

Mainly found the issue to be linked with the rapid chargers.
  24. Hmm, I'm not convinced, but I guess we'll never know for certain.

    HELP?!

This could get complicated and confused, so let's clarify some of the terminology involved before going any further. [1] The charger is always, without exception, within the car. It is the inverter that transforms 230 volt AC to 400 volts DC (or 800 volts in some new cars) plus associated electronics for control purposes. [2] The equipment you plug into the car is called in the industry an EVSE or a charge point. It is either [a] a slow charge 230 volt AC electrical power supply plus electronics to communicate with the car, or [b] a fast charge 400 volts DC electrical supply that bypasses the car's charger and goes straight to the battery, plus electronics to communicate with the car. See what I mean about complicated? Having got that out of the way, the fact you can charge at home on 230 volts AC means the car's charger is working. My questions then are whether the motorway charge point was a slow (230 volt AC) one or a fast (400 volt DC) one, and whether you were using your own charging cable or one fixed (tethered it's called in the industry) to the charge point? Answers to those questions may help us point to the fault.
  26. So I am not hearing the noise as much now, not 100% sure if they just applied some from of lubrication onto the brakes (or onto the bushes etc if they were bs'ing etc), the only thing they mentioned from the health check I got was that eventually over the next while the pads need to be done but from checking they still have a good bit left on them so honestly its the first time like Steve has mentioned I have ever heard that.
