Hi! I just picked up a 2022 e-tron 55 yesterday. I’m coming from a VW Passat and I live in cold Sweden. As such I frequently start the parking heater beforehand so it’s nice and cosy. In order to do the same thing with the e-tron, do I need the app myAudi? I bought the car used from an Audi dealer but I didn’t get the Vehicle code so I can’t register the car in the app. After some googling it seems like they are charging for a new vehicle code? Does that include the Audi app cost or do you need to pay for that as well? And I’m guessing this app is needed if I want to be able to check how much battery is left etc? Thanks in advance

Search for coolant hose, part no. 8E2819371AD

Many thanks for your rapid response. I had seen those eBay items, both in Latvia. However, the owner of a local Audi/VW specialist garage warned me off them as he knows several customers who ordered in Latvia, who never received the parts and lost their money. Bespoke manufacturing might be my only option but probably very expensive. However, I am loathe to scrap a perfectly good car. Another possible issue is how long the garage is prepared to keep it while I am searching. -

What do I need when sourcing new headlight unit
Steve Q replied to Admprb's topic in Audi A3 (8V) Forum
The part number should be on the back of the headlight. It should look similar to this "8V0941773C" -

Sorry to hear about this. I've found two on eBay but no picture on either ad. https://ebay.us/m/z4olYt https://ebay.us/m/SfVhSA https://www.oemvwshop.com/8e2819371ad-coolant-hose-p1124411/ The other option is to take the pipe and ask a hose specialist to make a replica. -

I have an A4 3.0TDI Quattro (VIN: WAUZZZ8E25A456940) acquired new in February 2005. It’s a superb car, still in fantastic condition (at 184000 miles) and in perfect working order other than the following problem. A coolant hose at the rear of the engine, part no. 8E2819371AD, has split and the car cannot now be driven. It’s at a local garage where a pressure test was conducted to seek a minor leak. I presume that the pressure caused the hose to rupture. The part was declared obsolete only last month (!) by TPS (official VAG parts supplier). My garage can’t spend any more time searching and has passed the problem to me. On Thursday I ordered the part from LLL Parts, whose website initially showed it in stock but yesterday I got an email, saying only that it isn’t available; no indication if they can get one; no response to my email and I can’t reach them by phone as their automated answering system keeps cutting me off. I am now having enormous difficulty finding the part on the Internet, other than from a few expensive, probably dodgy Eastern European sellers on eBay, which I am not willing to risk. If the part can't be found, it seems that I would have to have the car scrapped, which is crazy, given how good it is, and would be emotionally difficult for me. Can anyone please help?

Ok thank you, sorry if I’m being silly - but what’s the best way to source part numbers? -
It can be done. Heres how to do it: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/archive/index.php/t-193233.html

Good morning Would someone know if you can use your convertible roof manually if it does not work electronically due to a rear window not working. Planning to get it to the garage soon but in the meantime with the weather nice it would be great to still use but unsure if 1 It would open without the rear window dropping 2 More importantly would it close again without the rear window dropping

Have you tried eBay? Quite a few on there: https://ebay.us/m/Mrz7yY https://ebay.us/m/1LLkwS https://ebay.us/m/nKzHhi https://ebay.us/m/7URvWa

If you've authorised a third party app to access your car (via the Audi APIs) in order to set timers then that's likely to be the cause of the problem. This link should help. https://www.e-tronforum.com/threads/charge-timer-randomly-enables-itself.6994/

2010 A3 S3. No start amd sudden shutdown when hot
Steve Q replied to edmiri's topic in Audi A3 (8P) Forum
This could be a starter motor issue or crank sensor issue. Or according to this thread the sensors that have decide on fuel delivery can be mapped out: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/197826/%3famp=1 -
I mean for peace of mind you could get a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Or alternatively get it remapped.

Grettings! Im having an issue with my audi 2010 a3 s3, 2.0 petrol, s-line. When the weather is hot or the car gets hot the engine cranks and doesnt start. It also shuts down suddently and occasionally there are no dashboard lights at all. After it cools down it starts and run fine. I connected my oschiloscope to the battery terminals and while engine cranks i noticed a drop in voltage everytime the engine rotates. It only does a few rotations and then stops. Max voltage drop i measured was 5v. I also used a clamp metter during cranks and got 59 ampere. Any iddea why this happens. I have tried a new battery.

If this is the engine you have the red box is the electronic EGR control valve, the green box is the vacuum operated EGR cooling flap solenoid.

Sorry, I have no idea.

I programme my charging with the Audi app and in car. It sets up fine, but later, very often, it mysteriously changes the charging programme. For instance, I earlier set it up to charge by 8.00 tomorrow. I have just checked and it has reset the charging to another date and time. What am I doing wrong?

Yeah i was asking for this. Not to be turned off but removed completely. I know it is legal in my country. Thank you very much for this information and helping me at all. I want to ask one last question, please. Where is egr located?

MTW started following Underpowered?
-
Hi, I have just brought home an Audi A5 Avant, 204ps petrol version. Very nice, love the spec, but.. it feels so underpowered.. I’ve come from diesel to petrol so I understand the torque differences etc, but the specs on paper out do my 16 yo Octavia and yet, that pulls so much faster. I was wondering if anyone else has any thoughts? Part of me is wondering if Audi has dialed it down to boast a 40mpg petrol engine. Many thanks

The exhaust gas recycle (EGR) valve returns some of the exhaust into the engine intake in order to reduce harmful emissions. It is water cooled. You can not turn it off, but the whole valve can be removed and the cooling circuit bypassed, however that will increase emissions and possibly cause other problems such as higher engine temperature and rapid blocking of the exhaust system. Whether such a modification is legal in your country is something you will have to discover for yourself.

If you get some I'd be interested to find out how they look if you could let us know here please. I've got a couple of worn ones myself, usual suspects, heater fan up and down, seem to be the most used buttons in the world. I just set the temperature on mine, put it on auto and leave it alone. Works well enough for me.
