Drivers side headlamp (full LED)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Unfortunately, my 67 plate A4 s-line saloon was bumped in a supermarket car park recently and whilst the damage was very slight it required a replacement drivers side headlight unit. The car has a full LED kit so as you can imaging the cost was pretty steep (£2k all in with a bumper re-paint). The work is all done and the chap who caused the accident has paid up.

I feel a bit sorry for him as it was a genuine accident and he’s been very good in making payment etc. He is a sole trader and I imagine it’s been a bit of a blow financially.

As such I’m wondering if the damaged headlight unit has any residual value or opportunity for repair? It’s fully working but has some very slight cosmetic damage at the front and a larger crack underneath - see pics. I’m thinking I’d stick it on eBay with a zero reserve and let him have anything I make...

I’d appreciate any thoughts any more experienced Audi owners might have as to whether it’s worth trying to sell please?

Many thanks

Stuart

Hi Stuart it sounds like you've been very lucky the other party has paid up without going through the insurers. I'd definitely put it on eBay and see what it makes but obviously be very clear about it's condition and damage etc

Cheers

Steve
