Help Please - Audi A3 Clutch Overheating Warning

Featured Replies

Have a 2009 Audi A3 Sportback with DSG gear box. Petrol 1.6 engine.

While driving today for less than 0.4 miles from cold start (home), suddenly a warning popped up on the dashboard saying - "Clutch Overheating - Please turn off engine". I stopped the car about 40 meters post the warning light and kept it switched off for a good 1 hour. Tried starting it, engine starts, but car doesn't move. All other functions work except the clutch engagement.

Call the breakdown folks, who ran a diagnostics and said something was tripping off the gearbox fuse and he towed it away to a specialist garage, yet to hear from them. I have seen a recall which deals with very similar issue, call up Audi who say my model is not affected. Please advise as i think the warning and the recall are very related. I did have a gearbox oil change last year as a part of another recall. I do not have the funds to get this fixed.

RECALL DETAILS WHICH AUDI SAYS DO NOT APPLY TO MY CAR -
