Audi A3 1.8 TFSI 8V SALOON 2014 EPC Light - Auto Start/Stop

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,
I own audi a3 saloon 2014 1.8 TFSI (8V) and experiencing the following problem. When I start the car the EPC light comes with fault on the dash "Auto Start/Stop fault", once the carm is warm and switch off and back on the engine, there is no more light on the dash and the start/stop is working...
I have checked the car with VCDC diagnostic and there is no faults at all..... which is strange... The battery was also replaced and coded.

It mostly happens when the car is cold... and after re-starting the engine then start/stop is working and no light on the dash..

Any ideas what it might be ?

Thanks in advance

Hi. I have the same issue, and the mechanics have no idea what is causing it. Did you ever manage to solve it?

Sincerely, Rikhard

Hello Rikhard,

Thanks for joining.

Unfortunately the original poster hasn’t posted any responses in the last 3 years, so it’s probably safe to say he isn’t going to now!
If this were mine, I would be getting the battery efficiency checked, as my first port of call.
Kind regards,

Gareth.

Thanks alot Gareth!

I will do that later today. My mechanic changed the Camshaft sensor, but this did not seem to help with the EPC that comes about once every two weeks and then disappears. Hopefully it’s just the battery that’s causing the issue.

Thanks again for the tip.

Best regards, Rikhard
