mn1acc Posted February 6, 2020 Share Posted February 6, 2020 Hi there fellow Audi owners, For any London owners, I have a question that I would very much appreciate any insight on. I own a 2014 plate Audi Q7 S LINE TDI Quattro. According to the Transport for London ULEZ check website, this car apparently falls foul of the London ulta low emission zone (ULEZ) standards and therefore is liable to the £12.50 daily charge. I had initially thought I would need to buy a 2015 plate which are mainly Euro 6 compliant. However when i start to put some other Audi Q7 2014 plates registrations (with same specifications) into the TFL ULEZ vehicle checker, some come out as being compliant. Even more surprising, but i have found Q7s going back as far as 2011 which are ULEZ compliant according to the TFL site. Does anyone have any insight into this as to what is determining the why the seemingly same vehicle can register ULEZ whilst others dont. Steve Q Posted January 18 Share Posted January 18 It's a nightmare. If you're trying to prove your box you'll need a certificate of conformity from Audi. I've been through all the TDI cd reg numbers I can find with the ULEZ checker and very few come up as ULEZ compliant I assume the few that are compliant have had their coc submitted by owners to tfl. Steve Q Posted May 24 Share Posted May 24 If you're regularly going into London then just look for a car that's guaranteed to be accepted. Otherwise you've got to deal with a lot of faf. technician Posted May 24 Share Posted May 24 Hi Steve, The problem is now that virtually anything inside the M25 seems to be in the ULEZ zone and I do travel inside the M25 pretty regularly. I can probably currently stretch to £15k for a car at the moment. For that price I can get a low (ish) mileage 2012 to 2015 TDI cd but it won't really buy a late 2015/2016 car as they seem to be about £5k more for an equivalent car. cliffcoggin Posted May 27 Share Posted May 27 It's no consolation to any of you who have to drive there, but I solved the problem of ULEZ etc. by simply not going to London any more, despite living only 30 miles away.
