Can Audi CVT transmission last longer than 100k?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy my first Audi (A6 or A4 S-Line) and doing my research along side looking at various models for sale. I've seen a few higher mileage TDIs with CVT auto transmission. Are these autos still reliable or serviceable after 100k miles? A quick Google search says CVT boxes shouldn't last more than 100k so a little unsure whether auto is the way to go at this mileage!

Thanks, Steve

S tronic is far better. But the cvt it'll depend on how well it's been looked after such as oil changes being carried out etc.

When testing a car make sure the gear changes are smooth.

Cheers

Steve

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I think that type of auto box may be beyond my budget as I'm only seeing CVT in the ages I'm looking at (2004-2008) I will keep an eye out though. Yes I will check gear changes etc.

Thanks
