Rear Headlight LED issues - Help!!

Hi All, 

2011 Audi A3 S line recently had issues with water in the outer tail light. Replaced the casing, bulbs and connector and now all working.

However, the inner LED on the light on the boot door isn’t working. All wiring seems fine and no codes to warrant this just a note on dashboard that rear left light is not working.

Had a mechanic have a look at it today  and now the inner tailgate LED is working and the outer is not.

Anyone had a similar problem? I’m struggling here.
