I have recently had a light come on my dashboard and taken my car into audi where I was informed that I need a low pressure egr valve. I am just looking for any advice about where I can get this done other than audi. 

Or is it worth paying the extra money and having the work done at audi ??

Hi its been a running battle with these things they are a disgrace mine went last year and Audi wanted £1700 to do it, they only sell the part with the new valve attached £700 or there about, see if you can find a VAG specialist to give you a quote, an oe part with the valve is on eBay at the moment for around £500, the part number is 04L 512 For the cooler and 04L 131 501 B for the valve.

Hi yes Diesel engine, all the 2.0 litre models around that time CNHA,DETA etc. are fitted with them, allegedly they should last 100k but I have first hand knowledge of some that have gone at 30k.

Is a lot of labour  to change this egr cooler, is a lot of garage who will avoid to do this. 

....also have same problem. car 2017 2.0 190ps tdi, 57,000 miles. Audi quote was £££s, local garage said they have replaced lots of these on audi diesels, as low as 30,000 miles.

Now booked in to be replaced by local garage for a much better price with genuine parts. Car currently not being driven as started to feel hesitation when lightly accelerating. Two week wait for repair, which I don't mind.

Probably buy a petrol next next car!!
