Jake H
Hey, I just bought a 2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI CAX engine and there is this knocking sound coming from the engine bay when I accelerate in any gear only when driving, it increases in speed the more I rev. The only other time I hear it is when I engine the clutch, put in 1st gear and hold my bite point, that’s it. I have no idea what it may be, my dad thinks it’s probably something to do with the driveshaft housing but I was just wondering if anybody has any insight to it please. I have a video of the sound and will post the link below:
Steve Q
It could be an engine mount, gearbox mount, driveshaft or durl mass flywheel.
Jake H
My dad did mention he feels something coming from the right side of the driveshaft housing, do you think that could be the cause maybe?
Steve Q
Yep could be. I'd recommend getting it into a garage
