Hello Andrew,

Many thanks for joining.

When you say you have spent a fortune with Audi, could you itemise what you have had done, particularly in relation to suspension and steering components.
Also tyre brands and tread across each axle, and pressures used. Tyre profiles?
When you say it feels horrible to drive - could you be more specific with what your discontents are.

Mileage?
Kind regards,

Gareth.

hi Gareth so I bought the car 2 years ago and late last year hit a pot hole / kerb which smashed both passenger side wheels. So two new alloys and tyres and a wheel bearing £3500 and i managed to catch a snippet of the report which said something along the lines of Iv tightened it as much as it will go and I don’t think any new parts will make any difference and as for mileage 38000 and I have done 11000 in 2 years. It’s full Audi service history, I have had the bushes done prior to the incident last year. But the alignment from Kwik fit showed one wheel out and he said he couldn’t ajust it ?? Also I keep that car full Audi in regard of service etc. Haldex has been done a few times also transmission and obviously engine oil at least once a year. I just need someone who won’t take the !Removed! as I’m Ill and need it for everything. And also to drive and enjoy which is why I want the handling sorted. Thanks Andrew

Thanks Andrew.
To have smashed both wheels would suggest the impact was fairly severe. Not quite sure what ‘lv tightened….’ refers to, but may suggest some other component -? Is out of line.
If it were mine, I would first be getting another four wheel alignment check carried out, and getting a print out relating to any misalignment as it is now, and then after adjustments have been made.
Recommendations in Bristol? Don’t know, I’m afraid.
There are numerous 4 wheel alignment outfits in most towns/cities, but the equipment is only as good as the people who use them.
Incase it helps, I use my local ATS, since I trust them and they are thorough and take time to explain their findings. What they are like in your area -??
It’s probably me, but I don’t use Kwik Fit. I find them ‘too commercial’ and want to ‘sell’ you what they think you need. Of course they may be right, but…

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Thanks Gareth I had the four wheel alignment done about a month ago and the front left that took the most impact is clean out but they said they can’t fix it at Kwik fit as they don’t do that type of work. Audi and Kwik fit say it’s fine to drive but I will get wear on the tyre after about 8-9 months?? lol I think I’m gonna take the alignment printout to a Audi specialist and see what they say. I mean it drives straight etc it’s just it feels different if I chuck it into a bend etc . Anyway thanks for replying. Andrew

Thanks Andrew,

I wasn’t as completely clear on the current situation as I am now.
Re. Getting the out-of-alignment meant sorted:- a trusted local body shop maybe an alternative/ additional route.
Perhaps you could keep us posted on the outcome.
Kind regards,

Gareth.

yes I’m just due to get service done and then it’s to the body shop for advice and maybe work, i will keep you all updated. Ps another problem is my b&o system used to sound great but was making everything rattle they added a subwoofer dial on the mmi but seem my mid range is not there or any good. I bought a new rear sub (b&o) but when I try a few different songs it’s ok it’s still not great but it’s driving me mad. I’m thinking do I send sub back?? And get the amp but the subs destorting like mad too at times is there any suggestions please. Thanks Andrew
