ZerosGiven Posted July 26, 2023 Share Posted July 26, 2023 Hi there. I've own previously a 2007 A4 Avant S-Line, a MKI TT 225. So this is not my first rodeo when it comes to Audi. However, my new purchase is a 2012 A6 Avant 3.0 V6 TDI Quattro. I'm very pleased with it. I have a few questions I hope everyone experience can help me with. 1. I hear water running up and down the tail gate and the lights have signs of water inside. Is this common? Whats the issue, how can I fix? 2. Any recommendations for a replacement tail pipe ends? Is this easy to do? 3. This car has a HUD (head up display). I like it, but any idea if it can be turned off? 4. The brake pedal squeaks every time you touch it. Anyone got any fixes or hacks to stop or tone this down? 5. She's got some big wheels on her, 265/30/20. What do you guys run on yours? I have always liked Michelin Pilot Sports but happy to hear anyones thoughts on it. 6. I have invoices from the Audi garages that completed the services, but the books not been stamped. I was thinking of calling and asking if they could stamp my book if I provided the documents. Has anyone done this before, is this 'okay' or a bit of a no no? Thanks in advance! Steve Q Posted July 28, 2023 Share Posted July 28, 2023 The tailgate water could be coming from the rear wiper motor. Definitely worth taking the rear panel off to investigate. The tailpipes will either be screwed on or welded on. Only way to know it to look under. 20 inch wheels seem large. Are they Audi ones? Definitely worth seeing if Audi wil stamp the book for you. They are Audi Rotor type, see picture. Spoke to Audi dealership that did the work, they said they dont use stamps anymore since it went digital. I found out there is a recall on the car, so will talk to them in person when I o in for that and take all I need. Greg71 Posted August 5, 2023 Share Posted August 5, 2023 Hi Duncan, I had the same issue with my tail light. I removed it and the original adhesive had failed.
