A4 2.0 b7 DPF Light......help

Featured Replies

Hi All good evening.  Hoping for some pointers. Have recently purchased an 07 A4 2.0Tdi b7 135000 miles. Runs well, smooth, pull like a train great on fuel etc. DPF light has come on so have done the motorway run....twice added dpf cleaner to fuel etc and light went out.

25 miles later light came back on.

I may add absolutely no loss of power or limp mode etc. Quit a lot of.black smoke when you give it the beans.

No dtc codes

Amy pointers on what may be the issue,

Thanksn

Hi sounds suspiciously like the DPF has been bored out and its had a remap as it definitely should not smoke as the DPF and CAT stop any excessive smoke, if it was standard you would have limp mode and codes.

Hi Steve, was my thoughts aswell tbh, just wish I could get the poxy light off lol. Guessing the only way to confirm would be take the dpf off and have a look. Thanks

Hi sorry to be the prophet of doom but thats what happened to a guy on here with an A3 of a similar year, after trying every cleaner known to the motor trade it turns out that was the problem no DPF and a bad map, I think the easiest route would be to consult another [reputable ] mapping specialist and they can normally spot someone else's bad handiwork and rectify it, thats what other guy did and I think it solved his problem, although he hasn't been on here since.

Hi, tbh not fussed about having no dpf, but like your other a3 owner I've tried God knows how many cleaners etc. Will endeavour to find someone who can do the mapping.

Thanks
