Engine ticking

Featured Replies

My car has been making a tapping noise last few weeks as soon as I put my foot on the accelerator particular on low speeds/revs. The noise is coming more of the left hand side of the engine block, it recently had a service and my mechanic sound 3 very very small fragments of metal. Few days ago i have had a yellow coil light flashing, and car went into limp mode couldn’t go above 40mph, however next day no light nothing car felt fine apart from the ticking noise. All my mechanic had on the diagnostic is low fuel pressure, anyone had this issue before will take it to a specialist but seeing my options whilst I wait

doesn’t sound like the timing chain, the noise goes once engine is hot (90degrees).

hi did you ever find out what the problem was I have a 2013 plate with a similar noise the noise gets quicker when I start moving , I recently had all the injector seals done and gasket seal as the left side had went but still hear the noise took it back to the garage and they said it was just the noise from the injectors and it was fine, I'm still not convinced and its really irritating lol.
