fault code C111207  haldex rear final drive clutch pumpunit mechanical failure fault showing

haldex pump fitted fault is now intermittent called audi they made us aware of a recall on the vehicle for a transmission update based on this the garagethe car was booked into audi for update softwareand haldex intermittent fault investigated. On carrying out the update for the transmission the oil pump for the gearbox s tronic  has failed and requires replacement as part of the recall audi then replaced the dsg gearbox complete as part of the recall  then flushed the haldex system again fitted the haldex pump carried out basis setting on the pump reset values car went for 120 miles had the same problem back back to audi haldex pump fault showing metal filling found in oil of haldex system so the haldex coupling is being replaced  will this be a cure ,In the video  is what the car was doing at low speed in reverse or foward with a good lock on wheels

Hi the Haldex system works on viscous couplings in the rear differential that react by transferring the power to the wheels that are gripping its a complex system that can even transfer the power split between the front and rear wheels or engage a form of four wheel drive so when the car is cornering say left sharp bend it will transfer more power to the off side to maintain the stability based on information from the yaw sensor mounted on the transmission tunnel at the front, thats the basics, if the coupling plates deteriorate/fail it throws the whole system out, filings in the oil would confirm failure which is normally caused by non existent oil changes every 25k the filter inside the unit ruptures and throws all the bits it has collected in to the oil damaging the viscous plates, this is a high maintenance system, in my honest opinion the BMW X Drive system is superior but wears tyres at an alarming rate but on the plus side is not prone to maintenance failure, think the replacement will solve your problems but just be aware of the oil change intervals also factoring in driving style.
