Hi all,
I have very recently purchased an Audi A3 35 TFSI Black Edition MHEV auto (brand new) and have found that it makes a high pitch beep sound from around the A pillar front passenger side. This occurs when I depress the accelerator and the brake. It occurs in all driving modes except for Sport. It happens when the MMI system is on or off.

I took it into Audi and they basically said it was normal. See attached excerpt of report. I have alap attached a recording of the sound. I have emailed Audi customer services. In the meantime does anyone here have any ideas?

Thank you

Many thanks Shafee,

Pending a response from Audi Customer Services:-

I would be booking this in to another dealer if this were mine, since your dealer is giving you every indication that Audi have knowingly ‘built in’ this annoying feature!

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Cheers - I’m thinking that’s what I’ll do. Perhaps not mention that the previous dealership said it was normal

Well worth a go, although I would suspect your visit to the first dealer will be recorded in the car’s on-line history.

Hi, I have exactly the same on my 2024 A3 MHEV and other owners are reporting the same. Did you get anywhere with the issue? Thanks in advance

Did anyone get a conclusion to the bleeping sound.

Audi checked it and said it was just part of the ‘characteristics’ of the car and that it was normal. But when pressed they couldn’t tell me what it was. By the end that’s all I wanted to know, but no luck.

I’ve figured out that it only does it when you put revs on after the engine cuts off when coasting. Some sensor / signal relay perhaps.

I have the same on a Q3 sportback 2024.

Audi have had it 3 times and have now told me that’s what it’s supposed to sound like. I said what Audi have purposely added a really annoying noise on an expensive car as standard. They did change the activated charcoal line in mine as that is a common issue as they split but it has made no difference. I have had other mechanics say it could be transmission, turbo, air intake timing belt/chain or electrical.
I said to Audi what I don’t want is to come back when it’s out of warranty and then be told I have a big problem and it’s going to cost me a fortune.
The thing is quite a few people have the same issue so there has to be a problem.
