A3 Sportback 2013. Rear tyres

Featured Replies

Hi all need some advice please. I have put 2 new uniroyal rainsport tyres on the rear. 225/45/18 the car now feels very unbalanced and i have the ESC light coming on going round corners at speed. I do have 2 new ones left i could put on the front to see if it cures the car. Is it because the tyre depth is different so it senses this ? Thankyou

Welcome Alan, and thanks for joining.

Basics first:- Have you checked the tyres have been correctly fitted in relation to the direction of rotation?

Have you checked the tyre pressures are set correctly?
Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hi

Yes tyres fitted correctly and yep tyre pressures are correct. I think the car is sensing a difference in tyre height maybe ?

‘….sensing a difference in tyre height…’. So have you fitted a different profile tyre on the back? Only then would there be a meaningful height difference.

Hello the profile is the same as in tyre size but there is a slight difference if you look at the makes of tyre. New uniroyals on the rear and old Bridgestone on front but going to change the fronts to same as rear and see what happens. Fingers crossed it will sort it.
