2016 A3 Sport Back Transmission problem

Hi.

We have been getting an intermittent fault light, amber linked to a transmission fault. Had the car into the local garage. He says its probably a fault with the mechatronic unit in the gearbox. I have found that there was a recall due to a faulty hydraulic piston in the transmission in Australia. However, we live in NZ. Has anyone had a similar issue. According to NZ Audi dealer there is no recall on our car. Do they always get this right?
